Price glitch haha, would be interesting to see on them.
I wonder if we could buy the same Steam Machine 10 times a day like with the games when they are 99% off by mistake.

Seems like a waste imo. If you're gonna go 3x 980s why not just build a PC.

Seems like they allow up to 32GB of ram, and 14TB harddrive. IMHO it is a big mistake to allow all this customizing. It is not like there is any reason to have anything like that for playing steam games, thems server specs.

Yeah, you can build yourself the same box (or better) for a fraction of the price with a good HTPC enclosure.

Lol, what a name.
"ORIGIN"
I have my doubts that a court would allow them to steal their main competitors name for their product.

I have a better question: why would anyone want to buy it at all? Especially sth SOOO overpriced...

Looking at these kit, I'm thinking that I could probably build myself a more powerful Steam box for half the price.

It could be a good replacement for consoles, but not at those prices. It keeps the myth going that it cost more to game on a PC than on a console.

actually i love playing with controllers, but it just doesnt work out well at fps and stuff... but I seriously believe the Steam controller can give me a way better experience with the trackpads and the ability to modify all buttons in all games... Im really excited about it^^ Also i think it is very useful that you can create a certain keymapping for a certain game, and can share this keymapping on steam directly:) Im ready to pay 50$ for this;D

Every decent controller, keyboard or gaming mouse has key mapping, My Logitech mouse has the entire database of presets for thousands of games if I'm too lazy to set controls myself (and I really am). But well, maybe they prove themselves useful. But a gaming box in the cheapest preset being twice more expensive than my PC currently running every single game on Ultra settings is just RIDICULOUS. Not to mention the fact that packing multiple GPU's in a little box will make it the most expensive toaster ever.

steamboxes are really stupid;D i would never buy one myself, totally agree with you. And since SteamOS is free for everyone, you can just turn any PC into a steam machine, could not find any argument for buying them;D

This Link thing idk, my network connection here is way too bad to use it any senseful, but i bought some time ago a 10 meter HDMI cable, so i could play on my tv whenever i want without having to move my pc. So I guess it is not interesting for me

The Virtual reality thing looks just like morpheus or rift, is there any difference at all? what would it cost? Maybe something that you buy when you have too much money and want to spend it instead of saving it?

Your config will be region locked, so when you want to use them, you'll need to travel to Rus.
