They thought this site will magicly give you free games i guess.

I think they thought people were entering the giveaway to fight over who would give the game to them hehe.

How epic if that was true, and entering into these giveaway battles increased the chance to win something at a later date,

If I can't speak the language well enough to read the rules, I don't join the website. Google translator is just too unreliable.
Which leads back to a lack of common sense on the part of the user.

I think the best part of that is not only did he want Call of Duty but he also wanted 2 copies. Also the 1.5k entries is pretty amusing.

I did my fair share of trading on Steam and still (almost a year after Steam trading has been implemented) i find people who think they can trade games which are binded to their accounts

Just because you are on the site for a long time doesn't mean the people who think bound games are tradable were on the site that long :p.

Yes, they thought the game would magically appear in their inventory upon creating the giveaway. What's your point?

Obviously, because every 12-year-old on the site is from where you live.

When the site started out, there was an invite system. We had people that would accrue points and use them to create invites to sell. They'd get people to buy them by insinuating that the games were given by Valve. There was a ton of google translate and unhappy key-buyers back in those days. That stigma hasn't faded.

What? That's not how it works?
Next thing you'll be telling me Santa Claus isn't real

Nah, Santa's real, I get presents under my dead tree every Christmas, and the cookies and milk are always gone

Phew. That's a relief. I couldn't handle two of my core beliefs destroyed in a single day...

I've met a guy here, who thought that when you say "thanks" in comments, you will get game from giveaway. Then he runs on forums and yells that he didn't received them, by the way embarrassing whole nation (he had to state, where is he from exactly).

I always found it funny that some people new to steamgifts make giveaways for games that they WANT, what, did they think that the game magically appears in their inventory upon creating a giveaway? Where do they even get these ideas?
