By awesome I meant mainly the length of the sale. I mean come on, it's pretty cool to see a sale that lasts all year round, I've never seen a sale like that. And I think this sale has pretty good games too. DMC 4 and Trine franchise are both fantastic games. Though that's just my opinion :/

Yeah but this timer was for those three games only. Would you want them to be on sale for the whole year? That'd be pointless.

Not entirely pointless, I say. Those games are pretty amazing, so if they were on sale longer, more people would probably buy them. I know fast sales often prompt people to buy games at whim, but I still think longer sales mean more games sold. People might easily miss quick sales, but you'd have to purposefully stay away from Steam to miss a sale like that :)

I've seen one really long sale. There's this juice/watered-juice (not exactly sure which one) that from start have big "buy 1 litre, second comes free" promotion (strangely, this one litre costs more or less same amount those 2 litres juices costs :P ).

I was mainly talking about game sales. I think video games are an industry which favors quick progress and fast sales. Just look at Steam for example, the longest sales are usually those that last an entire sales period (Winter/ Summer sale etc.), and those are a couple of weeks or months tops. It's rare to see video game sales that last a whole year, at least that's what I think.

I know, my post was meant more like joke, but I guess I forget to put one more :P at the end if it.

Besides, I can't recall any other promo that started when product got shipped and will go until they will sell it :P Guinness record for sure.
