First doctor amazing 2nd doctor. A bit different then the first but eventually grown to love. last doctor I watched all episodes but skipped around alot fast forward and such, which I never did with other 2 doctors. I really don't think hes a good doctor and season 8 only had 1-2 episode of any good. I feel like I am watching Fillers till they get the real doctor back. From watching season 8 I am not excited or looking forward to season 9 :(. I will prob watch it but skip around just to the good parts as I really don't like new doctor.
I would not be sad if they cancel season 9 which is set to air in sept.

Wow, thread about Doctor so I have to write something
To be honest in my opinion Peter Capaldi is... the best Doctor of new series :D I really like that style he made for Doctor that shows how strong and powerfull he really is and his look just reminds me of old series Doctors, that's kind of connection. Basically connection of style, power and sense of humor is just what bought me :) But to be honest it is although the time when I wait for 'new' doctor as never before... I'm really curious (I think it'll be finally a woman :P )
But I think british series main characters actors have that thing that they're loved or hated, never something between :p same in Sherlock, Utopia, Broadchurch, Misfits. To strong personalities to just don't care :)

Frankly, I don't like any of the new doctors. The modern show doesn't hold a candle to the 70s and 80s.
But, frankly, my opinion doesn't matter in the least. I am so far out of the show's target demographic--British youths--that they don't even pick my opinion, or that of my age/national-group peers, up on their radar.
All that matters to them is that British youths like it, which they seem to.

Sure, but television programs are designed with discrete targets in mind. And, flatly, people from outside of the BBC's domestic audience are not in Dr Who's target. People outside that may like it, but that only matters for syndication.

The hell...The 9th Doctor was AWESOME! He was really broken and grim, cynical and sarcastic, perfect for a guy that just came out of genocidal war in which he wiped out his own species. But also with with a really fucked up sense of humor as a coping mechanism. And man, could he ever rock a leather coat... And Rose is the best companion TO DATE (of the new series anyway). She was understanding and supportive, strong, fearless, funny when she needed to be and was not a stupid damsel in distress like later companions(looking at you, Martha Jones). And most importantly: she was hot as hell :D. And the first season has some of the best episodes in the series. Such as the one with the WW II gas-mask zombie kid..."Are you my mommy?" 11th Doctor was ok...kinda of, but doesn't even hold a candle to his predecessors. Most of the good things in his runtime came from Pond. Once she was replaced with the Jar Jar Binks of companions, Clara I was like...agh...

Ok, ok...most of them were hot, Not a good criteria, I admit. but to be fair, Billie Piper really stood out among all of them, at least for me. How do you think she got the lead in Secret Diary of a Call Girl? She really does have the looks to pass as a deluxe prostitute. I mean..not that I'd ever pay for sex, but if i did, she'd certainly be worth it :D. Yeah, Clara's really hot too, that's not the debate. When I compared her to Jar Jar Binks, I meant that in terms of how utterly annoying she is: a whiny, self-centered, egotistical, little brat. Maybe I should have given a different example, of someone really hot, but also annoying as all hell. I got it: she's like Kat Dennings' character in the Thor movies.

I loved the series since I started with the 9th Doctor. I't was soo cool and funny. Until 12th Doctor appeared and it was a huge let down. I think almost everyone hates him. I think most of people wanted a twist in the series and what's better than a doctor Woman. All the things that she will have been able to accomplish do as sexy an funny woman of course it will have been count less, if they have chosen the right person for the job. Doctor who producers should have heard their fans and this season shouldn't have been a disaster like this. Other series that I recommend it will be: Once upon a Time, The Flash, Arrow and also I started with Season 3 of Defiance.

I actually like Peter Capaldi very much. as the doctor i mean. i really think that Clara is the wrong companion for him. i mean, she is not strong enough. if we had Donna this would be even better than with Tannent (which was awesome!)

Clara's an awful companion. She's just a whiny, annoying, little bitch. She's like the Jar Jar Binks of companions, like Chris o'Donnell playing Robin in Batman and Robin. I swear even Martha and Rory were better than her...and I HATED them both. compared to Rose and Amy Pond, the two best companions ever, she's downright unbearable. It's not that she's not the right companion for the 12th Doctor, cause she was just as bad at the 11th Doctor side, probably even worse with her stupid love-sick puppy attitude. This is the first in the series for me...a season in which I don't like neither Doctor, nor companion. Which is why i stopped watching past episode 4. been planning to pick it up again, but...every time I try..agh..I remember why I left it, because it's just not a good show anymore.

I'm not a doctor fan but I think Peter Capaldi is a great actor. I recommend you the third season of Torchwood.
Torchwood its a Dr. Who's spin-off and it has a... lets say "weak and funny" especial effects as a trademark but the third season its different. Is, plain and simple, one of the best sci-fi plays ever made. Ever made. Really.
And Peter Capaldi is extremely good in that series.

As a long time fan of the show I got used to the regenerations when I was young and understood that each Doctor is going to be different. I also understand that it usually takes up to 7 or 8 episodes for a doctor settle in.
And for every ones information the best Doctor was Tom Baker! :D

When the 10th Doctor regenerated, I almost cried my lungs out. I wanted so much to hate Matt Smith and see him as the worst actor to ever play The Doctor. But I just couldn't. I gradually started warming up to him more and more, even though there was no way I could ever see him as a worthy successor to the absolutely magnificent David Tennant. I looked forward to his eventual regeneration since season 5 and now that it's happened, I'm in shock. I never would have thought back then, I'd ever miss him. BUT I DO!!!!
Because Peter Capaldi SUCKS. Really...he's not witty, he's not funny, he's not charismatic, he's just an annoying douche-bag.
I don't mind The Doctor being a lot more dark and not a flirty, charming pretty boy. It was actually about time for a darker tone. But I do fucking mind him being boring and uninteresting. And I sure as hell mind an episode of Dr. Who which couldn't even make me smile...
For the record, I have nothing against Peter Capaldi himself. His character is just badly written, I blame Steven Moffat. So who else thinks The New Doctor Who sucks 20 levels of ass? Hope I'm not the only one. That would make me even sadder..
