Phoenix Giveaways is a hybrid between a bundle and a non-bundle group. Most of our members come from HEM's Bundle Giveaways group which we closed at the end of February. If you'd like to up the ante on the chessieness - We died and rose again from the ashes - thus the name - Phoenix Giveaways.

Here's the usual copy pasterino

Rules

  • Starting CV: $150.
  • Monthly requirement: 1 non-bundle + (2 bundle OR 1 non-bundle).
  • Giveaways must be posted in the monthly thread.
  • Giveaway duration: minimum 2 days, maximum 10.
  • CV requirement higher than $150.01 is only allowed for non-bundles.
  • Failed giveaways do not count towards your monthly requirement.
  • A bundle game may only be given away up to 4 times by one member. A bundle game given away 6 times no longer gives any points.
  • If the winner of your giveaway is no longer in the group, contact SG support to request a new winner.
  • Keep your ratio above 0.8;
  • If you're giving away a game that already has an active giveaway, make sure yours ends after the first one.
  • INACTIVE status must be requested before the 5th of the month or you will have to create required giveaways.
  • Be friendly and respectful.
  • We reserve the right to instantly kick you for breaking the rules.

Special rules for NEW MEMBERS:

  • You have 2 days to create your first non-bundle giveaway. It MUST be open for 48 hours.
  • You may not delete entry GA without admin permission.
  • Only AFTER your non-bundle giveaway is marked as RECEIVED are you allowed to join other GA.

POINT SYSTEM EXPLANATION:

  • 1 point for a bundled game
  • 2p for a non-bundle game + 1p for every $4 based on worth at steamgifts.com

Examples:
QUAKE $9.99 - 3p
Transistor $19.99 - 7p

  • 0,25p for bundled DLC
  • 0,5 for non-bundle DLC
  • 1p for non-bundle DLC worth $4 or more on SG

Number of Entries Bonus:
0 entries = 0 points
1 = 90% points
2 = 100%
3+ = 110% | 6+ = 120% | 9+ = 130% | etc.
30+ = 200%

FAQ

How am I supposed to know whether the game has been given away 6 times or not?
Simply check the Games Given Away sheet.

What is considered a non-bundle DLC?
A DLC that hasn't been bundled.

What if a game goes on a -90%+ sale?
It is then considered by us a bundled game and thus worth 1 point. (This only concerns sales on Steam. If the game is on a 90%+ sale somewhere else - it’s not considered bundled till signs of abusement in order to raise CV/ratio).
When in doubt -- don't give away games that were -90% off anywhere, including Steam, to be 100% safe. Use sites like steamprices.com or isthereanydeal.com to check the pricing.

How much points do I lose when I win a giveaway?
You lose the giveaway's worth, thus when a giveaway is worth 3 points - you lose 3 points (bonus for entries is not included).

Are things like Civilization V: Brave New World, Season Passes or XCOM: Enemy Within considered non-bundle DLCs?
No, they are considered expansions and treated as non-bundle games.

List of the non-bundle giveaways taking place right now:

GRID Autosport
Valkyria Chronicles

I'm sorry but while I can clearly see that you're above $150 CV your giveaways don't really represent that.
3x Orion is also a strong "no" for us.

You may have read them but from the conversation we had, you've given an impression of someone who hasn't understood them, or at least the most of them. You even kept arguing about whether the game (game pack) is bundled or not based on few DLCs in that pack (bundle) not being bundled before. Not to mention that it was on a 85% sale, which is extremely close to 90%=bundle rule.

We don't need people who will try to get as many points for as little budget possible. That's not the idea behind this group and never will be. You were denied long before the conversation ended however, I thought that I owed you an explanation of how things work nonetheless.

If you want to think that you denied us, feel free to do so.

Have a good one and good luck with the future groups.

No, i was giving the impression of someone who, personally thinks that gives a lot to the community at SG, and you were pointing out that the games i gave away recently like Skyrim and the X-COM's would not fit the groups 'needs' or 'desires' and that also aplied at the games that i had at my inventory, which i had planned to giveaway at my groups, and i woulnt mind giving them away in this group, but since, the games, quoting you, will have no entries or just 1 or 2, i rather keep them for groups that want them .

And i kept arguing because the game i had of Port Royale 3 GOLD + DLC's is not considered bundled here, so it would not be fair to me to give it away at the group while being considerer 'bundle'

Its not fair to assume that i got all my games at the lowest budget, except contraption maker, but even that, people would be glad to have one if they want since not everyone grabbed that deal

I really appreciated the explanation, thats the main reason why i decided that i would not be a good member

Just happen, that i denied the group, and the group denied me, i have no problem with that

You too, have a great day!

Fist individuals.. now groups giving away games for free! What's the catch? Or should my faith in humanity be restored? \O/

What are you talking about, DeepScar? If you look at the bottom of the page there's a column titled "Statistics": 662K members have given away 788K gifts -- surely the whole SteamGifts community counts as a group of people giving away games for free.

Hmm, I'm quite interested if I meet the requirement.
But... I don't have the moolah to be creating giveaways in short notice right now. Maybe in a month if the spot's still open?

minor question,while reading the rules.

'have been on sale with bugged prices that would be equivalent to a discount of 90% or more
have special game owner discounts of 90%
could have been obtained for free en-mass (as a part of a Greenlight vote promotion, for example)"

Wouldn't these be marked as bundled on steamgifts?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

AFAIK the first and the third one are. Am not sure about the 2nd one (Deponia Complete).
Also, we do our own research when it comes to what's bundled and what's not since SG can be quite slow with those.

You have a site/spreadsheet with listed games? Because getting kicked/banned for not knowing which had coupons/greenlighted would be kind of bad :P

Permalink

We use both steamprices.com and isthereanydeal.com as well as Steam Enhanced plugin. When it comes to coupons, I don't think that there's been a case where a game would receive 90% off coupon before being on said sale/bundled.
Greenlight stuff (I reckon you mean key for vote/key for free) is even easier to check by us since for the most of the time there's 10 topics about keys on the forums of said game.

That said, we don't just kick our members like that ;)

Why did you decide on the name Phoenix Giveaways?

To be honest, I don't even remember by this point.
Might have something to do with this but don't quote me on that.

I hope to have a CV of $150 by November and might apply then, but I have a question, maybe it's been answered but I looked and couldn't find it. How many points does it cost to enter a giveaway?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hello, hamburglar.

If the GA you're entering is worth 5 points then winning is worth 5 points as well, if not stated otherwise. All the points are visible in our sheet. Our discount system offers an option to enter games for the worth lower than 100% if the author decides to discount said GA. Hope that it answers your question, if not, feel free to add me on Steam for further chat.

So do you only use up your points when you win? As in if you don't win, you don't lose any points?

Correct, we don't subtract points if you don't win.
