Hey people.

Since this Winter Sale is not as good as the last one, i have an idea for it. Though Steam will never ever accept it.

We all have bunch of games backlogged, haven't we? and sometimes we did just play them less than an hour or two and said "naaahh, not my style" . So why not make a gift pile?

My idea: Remove unplayed/just 1,2 hours played games from your library to add them to a gift pile.

What is the good thing for you? well, let's take an example.

I have an unplayed Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II in my library. I could gift it to the pile and come to a 25€-35€ region and get an entry into there. Only the people who gift 25-35 get an entry and you can just win 1 game. So everyone who gifts gets something from his price region back. EVERYONE!

More ideas:

-you can only gift 1 game per price region

-for Valve: it costs like 20 cent or so to enter

Known Problems:

-in the lower regions there will be many bundle games. What if you own them already and there are no other gifts?

-valve :(

What do you guys think about this? I myself would be really happy about it :)

Greets Eddy

EDIT: The idea is to gift games to the gift pile. Games that you HAVE IN YOUR LIBRARY but not played so long (1,2 hours).

I know, this would be a compromiss for it. It is for games that you don't like to get games you like.

Valve should make a feature to gift library games ONLY to the gift pile. Otherwise i could just go into a contrib only group here on Steamgifts.

First we would have to convince Valve to let us trade/ sell the games from our libraries. And that's not going to happen very soon, I'm afraid...

(If I got this right...) Well, it sounds nice in theory... but I think you should contact Steam with that idea, we can't really do much about it. Even though they'll probably decline or politely ignore you like you assume they would. :P
There IS the problem of organizing something like this and not screwing up... and I should tell you, there are a LOT of ways to screw something like that up. I don't see it happening. Especially after last years coal stunt.
