One is a number, one is a letter, and the last one is either a number or a letter.
This means that the equation is A*B(A+B)=X. A is the number of letters, B is the number of numbers. X is the number of possibilities. This uses the English alphabet so there are 26 letters and 10 numbers(0-9).
26*10(26+10)=9360
Shit just got mathematical.
EDIT: The hints actually reduced the amount of possibilities quite a bit. Without those two hints, the amount of possibilities would be 37,296 more than the current number of possibilities.

Well your math is wrong.. you know the correct positions but people trying to figure it out wouldn't.. which means one "?" could either be 26 letters or 10 numbers.. 36 possibilities.
And how the hell could you make the formula A+B.. even knowing that a specific "?" is either a letter or a number it'll stay a multiplication to determine the number of possibilities. If you try to determine "??" and I tell you the first "?" is a letter while the second is a number.. you still get 260 possibilities.. not 36.
