Looks very promising. The Long Dark is also one to watch out for.

Nice, reading about it now looks just like what I'm looking for.

well not really, I mean I know that Forest devs are planning on implementing a no-enemy mode but I still consider it more of a survival-horror game.

The best pure survival game I've played is Stranded II . It may be old and looking dated, but nothing beats it in the survival aspect.

Those two games really look pretty good OP. I love survival games, I recently got the forest and just love the fact that it's singleplayer and that I can just run around the island, building my stuff and whack people with the torn off arm of their friends.
What's bothering me most about survival games these days is not the horror element most of them have (which I honestly enjoy), it's rather the fact that most of them are multiplayer. I just don't see any fun in running around in a server just to be killed after 2 minutes and get all my stuff stolen.

+1 for me a pure survival game only works in single-player (or co-op, that could be interesting too). In multiplayer games there are too many idiots just pvp-ing everyone for the "lulz" ruining everybody's experience.

I partly agree. If the game has a singleplayer mode, there's no problem, I think. You don't have to play multiplayer.
I really like multiplayer survival games when you only play with your friends, like it's common in Minecraft.
No PvP and this stuff, only working together and having fun.
This is what makes a survival game even better in my opinion. Of course, as long as you aren't forced to do PvP/to defend yourself against others.

Those 2 look really good OP, exactly my kind of game. Thanks for mentioning them, hadn't heard of them until now.

Anyway, not on steam but can be bought on gog.com, The Robinson's requiem and Deus collection, you can't get more survival than that.

I don't know about you but I love survival games (bit of a "Les Stroud" thing going on). I don't understand why does it have to be mixed with horror when for me battling against the nature (weather, hypothermia/hyperthermia), and for your own survival (sleep, thirst, hunger, diseases, wildlife) is challenging and "scary" enough. There are very few survival games out there at the moment, I only know of FarSky, Neo Scavenger, Miasmata and probably Don't Starve or Minecraft. Sure Fallout New Vegas and Tomb Raider has some survival elements but it's still not pure survival.
Anyways here are some interesting survival games coming to steam:

Oh and btw if you can recommend me survival games on Steam I'd be grateful, I haven't found many :)
