So not not even 2-3 weeks ago, one was able to farm the cards
without having to wait/play the "initial 2 hours" - that was undone OK ...

I'm using Ilde-Master and have idled the bunch of games first for 2 hours simultaneously, then they run individually ...
thing is 2 - 4 hours pass (the game was already idled 2 hours) and maybe 1 or 2 cards drop on
random bundle-games seems like it takes forever . . .

^ Doubt that is common, has steam messed something up (reduced drop rate/increased time) or is it just the games?

Most plausible explanation for now, given by juzer:

Steam doesn't track ingame time correctly anymore (few weeks now) and that affects card drops.
Ingame time only increases on 0.5 hrs intervals instead of 0.1 hrs."

Does it take longer for you to get the cards? (after having run the game for 2 hours)

idk (i don't keep track of that)

droprate (after the 2hour thing, if its in effect) is gamedependant as far as i know, because i have seen a couple of patchnotes on games that said they changed the droprate,

Thanks for your input, if that is to be true, it could easily be the cause.

I noticed this more than 2 weeks ago, and now after 2 weeks of constant idling I m 100% sure that this is the problem.
Doesn't seem like steam gives a fuck or that there will be some workaround.

I see, and yes seems like it ... whatever time Steam is counting/showing,
it doesn't seem to be right, for the time/drop that passed/received in real time.

If you had issued a refund ticket (even if it was for a game removal), then the cards start drop only at 2 hours + whatever the dev set (if it is not the default 15 minutes/drop).

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you can't refund a game if you played it for more than 2 hours?

Yes, but that is already "accepted" (the +2hours).

Nearly all my games take 6 to 15 hours to drop all their cards, now :X
One I'm currently farming is up to 13 hours, and still hasn't dropped its last card. :P

Still, I didn't do much farming before the change, so while all the ones before were 50 minutes to 5 hours (ie 3 to 7 hours in the new system), that could just be coincidence.
