Man, that was an atrocious and stupidly effective ending. I mean, it was unrealistically melodramatic, but at the same time pretty well planned.

Se7en is truly a masterpiece and perfect example, but Memento? It's quite the opposite, with a soul-warming and optimistic ending.

To add, to me Pan's Labyrinth, American Beauty, and Brazil has perfect endings. They all leave a similar aftertaste, but Pan's tone is a bit more serious throughout--one hell of a trip.

World peace and people living in harmony, and they get rid of a vicious psychopath in the process - how's that a bad end ?
