I just want to report this guy here CUT You can read my story in his feedback list.
He scammed me and other guys a few months ago. I haven't reported it on Steamrep, because like a stupid, I don't took screens and I haven't evidences.
Other people had evidences, but haven't reported it because "hey bro, I'm not going to have a refund, why I have to report him?"

Just be careful, guys.

Ok, I deleted his name. So, if you don't took screens of the trade, you are screwed. You can't report it. Steam should have backup chats.

that's the point, no one else should report him because no one else other than you and the scammer is involved in this

Steam does not want you to trade that's why support doesn't care about it. They want you to buy directly from them.

Also even if you took screens of the trade, you won't get our item back. The most you can get is just let people know he is a scammer (with screenshots).

Anyway this might be a good read https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/Idw0Z/make-faq-about-trades . Do research for trades before doing them, if not you are going to be scammed most of the time

That guy had 200+ positive reps and just 1 very old and "justified" negative feed.
Suddenly, he scammed me and other 3-4 guys at same time.

Another scam situation: I personally know people that had an item refund when they provided various evidences of the scam.
Funny thing: Steam refunded some people scammed from that guy, but his profile is still not banned. This was another scam, not the one I opened the topic for.

I'm assuming the people you know were scammed quite long ago.
I remember after the new mobile authenticator thing, valve retracted the help they used to give people (i.e gave people their items back if they were scammed or hacked) (Forgot where I saw it, but so far this was what could find only: http://store.steampowered.com/news/19618/)

Also from the years I have traded, I have seen lots of scammers (like a fk lot) but only saw 2 or 3 that were trade banned. Valve rarely bans users unless the user's actions affect valve in a big way (like chargeback etc), so most scammers get spared.

Also did you double check the steam profile from the steamgifts page and the person who scammed you? There are alot of people who thought it was 1 guy scamming them, but in fact it was just an impersonator.
(Anyway I know of a guy who had 100+ rep on steamgifts and scammed a total of $3k or so worth of keys from 100s of people [he was selling mgsvphatom pain when it was coming out for 2keys lower than the next lowest market price at the point of time]; he is perma banned here now though, so even if it might appear to be a good guy, if a deal is too good to be true it probably is.)
