So apparently Metro 2033 and Last Light are getting Redux versions sometime in the next couple of months. The Redux versions will include a graphics overhaul, a port to a newer engine in the case of 2033 and a couple of new game modes for Last Light. So, what do you guys think of this? I was looking forward to getting Last Light during the Summer Sale, but now I suppose I'll be waiting for the Redux version to drop in price. Yep, that's right, they're not free updates for those who didn't realize. In fact you can preorder them right here. Owners of the originals can get each respective Redux version for 50% off.

I'll wait till I see it on sale for at least 80% or more. I already own both and all the DLC so just getting a 50% discount, if I preorder which I never do, is just not worth it to me. Yes its a big update, but its just that, an update. We should not have to pay for patches.

I heard 2033 is not really optimized, so I guess I should wait for redux version...

What's sad is Metro Last Light "COMPLETE" edition hasn't even been out a month.(Metro LL Complete came out on April 23rd, the announcement for Redux was on May 22nd.)

I imagine many people bought the complete edition and got screwed out of not getting the redux instead. (Metro LL Complete is actually 97th best seller... I imagine it was higher yesterday.)

Surprise there isn't any kind of shit storm about it.

At least they were nice enough to put the reduxes on the regular Metro pages so people don't buy them by accident.
