What was your first computer? And I don't mean family computers nor computers that you were sharing with someone.

Mine was Pentium II 266Mhz, 64MB Ram, 4GB HDD. I bought it second hand for like $350 and after few weeks I upgraded a graphic card to nVidia GeForce MX200 to be able to play THPS 2 :D

Well yea, kinda... 21. I never met computers like Atari or Commodore when I was young. But with some games from that time I'm familiar anyway. I had a chinese console, where I played all the classic games like Contra, Space Invaders, Mario, Tetris, etc. :-)

That's not an Intel486 as they never clocked that high, Either AMD/UMC/Motorola might have... Also that hard drive sounds suspiciously high for a 486.

Before PC my dad had a ATARI, so i was able to run some game myself by siting in front of TV screen and waiting 45minutes before it loaded from tape.

But my first PC - 286 (I think it was 25Mhz)... Not sure of ram but it was max of 8MB and 10mb hdd.
It was bit old even for his times... It was a time of 486 machines... And everybody had one.

Firstly it had pre-installed DOS and NC, but i spend 2 days before i figured out how to run the second one.

My first was a Windows 95 CTX machine.

I can't remember the specs, because I was so young. I'm sure it was AMD K6... Probably around 32MB RAM. I could run Rainbow Six Rouge Spear in software rendering mode. ;)

I remember playing Jazz Jackrabbit, Space Quest, etc. :)

(spend most of my time on neverwinter nights just creating a world. just the world i never got around to an actual story XD)

Even then it was old. Only color the monitor could show was green but after a while my uncle hooked it up to a TV for me to use instead.

I think this was also my first. The only graphical processing was in green lines. It may have actually been the Apple III or the Apple IIc+ It was a long time ago. We had an Atari before that, but I never really considered that a computer.

An Atari 2600 Video Computer System which may or may not count.

Followed many years later by a Commodore 64.

Same here. I wouldn't count the 2600, as it was technically a console, so C64.

You must be very young. Or old.

I know mine was a 486... But I barely remember anything else about it. Let alone the specs. I do remember playing some of the usual diskette games tho, but that might've been later with a P1.

The first own PC I had was a AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1Ghz with 128MB RAM - but I got this when I was older, before we had an AMD 486DX 66Mhz. After that thing got very old and f-ed up, I used my brothers Intel PII with 300Mhz.

Had an Atari 2600, then NES. Not computers, but I used them for gaming, so... specialized computers. First PC-compatible... Celeron 333Mhz, 64 MB SDRAM, 3Dfx Banshee 16 MB VRAM. Later upgraded it to 256MB RAM and GF4 MX440, then gave it away to a friend and purchased Core2Duo... later came i5... blah, blah...
