Best Warhammer 40,000 faction?
The Salamanders are a Space Marine Chapter in Warhammer 40k as are the Crimson Fists. The Thousand Sons were the XV Legion of the original twenty Space Marine Legions.
They are all "factions" in the Warhammer 40k universe. You can find information about them in the Lexicanum, see my links above.

Crimson Fists and Thousand Sons definitely sound like Space Marine orders. But Salamanders?
I mean, apparently they were originally known as the Dragon Warriors, which makes sense - dragons are powerful, imposing creatures. I wouldn't want to mess with a dragon, let alone a warrior dragon. But a salamander? Who's afraid of a cute little salamander? ;)

In olden times salamanders were known to pop out of logs that were placed in fires. This was because they used to like to sleep in old logs and jumped out when it suddenly got hot, but in mythology and legend salamanders become closely linked to fire - with some gobshites even claiming they were creatures born from flames.
The Salamanders space marine chapter are well known for their awesome primarch, as well as their cool weapons and ornate armour due to their skill in metalworking - but most significantly for being a big bunch of arsonists. Fire is the connection.

I didn't bother including the ultramarines in the poll - I assumed nobody would vote for them...

With big tiddy xeno girlfriends!
Romance your comissar!
An Otome where you play a girl who finds out every guy wanting her are parts of a chaos cult. Or genestealer cult. Can your romance unite the two warring factions without calling down the Emperor's fire to the planet? Probably not, but isn't that tempting? Secret route with Slaanesh!
Papa Nurgle's Infirmary, a new smash hit in hospital sims!
Alpharius DLC for Hidden Folks!
I recon these would perform as well as the average GW licensed game.

I mostly play the tabletop game, the computer games have been a mixed bag. The original Dawn of War was good.

Somehow I confirmed my existence in the game list.
I intended to transfer. But it is in the list.
It seems that he is invited to this game unconsciously. ((o(´Θ`)o))

Oh yes, pure RTS action. DoW 2 was more a tactical-rpg game. Nevertheless all of the DoW games had great stories.
If you're into turn-based, take a look at "Space Hulk" (https://store.steampowered.com/app/242570/Space_Hulk/)
Too bad there is no Ultramarines in the poll, I would vote for them.

I've playing some Sanctus Reach lately. It's pretty enjoyable stuff, most likely the closest we're ever going to get to the tabletop experience on PC.

Sanctus Reach is one of the games I'm really tempted by, as well as Gladius and Mechanicus.

Sororitas are one of the three armies I collect and play. Bonkers arsonist nuns in power armour, dripping with bling and waving around guns that would usually require a heavy weapons squad. What is there not to love?

I have three armies - I'm sadly more invested in it than Steam at this stage...

I'm not too familiar with the Warhammer universe, so I don't have a favourite.

That wash works wonders on the flesh - it looks great.
Competition painted miniatures are a whole different monster - amazing art but they aren't spending a lot of time outside of display cases. Despite being intimidating, I still find realistic dioramas fascinating. I recently stumbled on a YouTube channel that really impressed me: Luke Towan. The first thing that caught my attention was that as well as being extremely realistic, his dioramas are much more recognisable to me because they are Australian scenes (it's always seemed like scale modelling is dominated by the British, and most dioramas are European scenes, although that might be because of the magazines I used to buy). Another thing I like about it is that even though I don't think I could ever replicate one of his grand dioramas, he offers a lot of practical advice and is very open about sharing his techniques and design philosophy. He also uses a lot of found materials and explains how to make the most of them. Here's a short one to give you a taste:

I'm taking a look at Luke Towan now - thanks for the link. It isn't quite what I'm interested in but is the kind of thing that always gives me a lot of ideas!

Yeah, most of what he does is not relevant to the miniatures but I thought you might still find it interesting. He approaches problems in interesting ways that are usually quite simple and inexpensive (e.g. water ripples in a river by blowing a thin layer of PVA glue over an epoxy base with an airbrush), and the results speak for themselves. It sometimes gives me ideas for new ways to tackle problems, which I enjoy, and I find something relaxing and satisfying about the videos. If you find yourself wanting to kill half an hour, there are a bunch of great ideas in this one:

I play orks because it means I can be a bit creative and make lots of funky conversions, so I'm happy to get ideas from other sources - from model train enthusiasts to nail art! I'm certainly thinking this guy could provide me with some inspiration.

The Lamenters are actually awesome, but nobody has time for that colour scheme...
