Hi all!

Is there a specific reason, why I cant add these games as a giveaway?
They are simply not in the list.

But many people giving them away atm.

I want to do the same, can u explain me why im missing these entires?

Good. Giving away 100% free games just to pad your CV shouldn't be allowed.

Dude, CV-Busting is not an option for me :D
I dont have people who I know in real life, that were using steam, so I wanted to gift it.

But thx for your opinion

They were removed from the list, the active giveaways were made before that

While they did remove the Anomaly giveaways, they failed to remove 42 of the Rush Bros giveaways that were made.

hrhr, kk – But they should put down game value then instead of removing them.

The Anomaly giveaways were removed because they were the wrong game.

There's nothing really wrong with giving away a game that's being promoted somewhere for free, as if gives those who aren't aware, or unwilling to sign up for something, a chance to win the game. But when they become too numerous and start effecting the use of the site, then we have to stop allowing additional giveaways for the game. No reason though to delete the existing ones at that point, as most will end soon, and the game already being on the bundle list.

Not to mention the GMG giveaway was only for existing users, and like a quarter of existing users it didn't work for anyway.

Well I disagree with that, since it is in essence not treating people equally -- i.e. you let some give it away but yet not others based on something arbitrary. To me it should be either opportunity for all, or nothing.

If you go back and delete giveaways, you're retroactively punishing those who made a legitimate giveaway. The giveaways weren't disallowed by the site at the time, and, as I said, were beneficial to many others who were unaware or unwilling/unable to take part in the promotion.

Okay, so then what's the criteria being used to determine 'legitimacy' then? Those 42 giveaways (now 41 for some reason) I mentioned were all from the free GMG giveaway (having been created within the past day). The ones before that though of course are all in the clear. I don't see how removing games that are being given away free en masse elsewhere and are consequently being spammed on the site is punishing people. This insures that all of your users are being treated equally and 'fairly', which I contend is not what happens otherwise, regardless of what the intent may be.

Even giveaways made with free keys are legitimate giveaways. It punishes the users who gave it away by reducing their giveaway slots, not to mention the loss of the (albeit free) key without any "credit" for giving it away (not necessary speaking of CV).
