After all the buzz about refunds lately, I decided to check it out for myself. I was just going through the motions to see what it was about and noticed you can ask for a refund if you thought the game wasn't fun. I created a ticket for 2 games I bought back in January and only played 2-3 hours of each, and within an hour my refunds had been approved. (!!) I realize most of the people asking for refunds probably have had troubles playing the game, but I didn't expect them to refund my tickets at all...

I'm so tempted to try to ask for refunds for more of these games I regret buying, but I don't want to feel like I'm taking advantage of the system.

What would you do in this situation?

Refund all the games you found boring.
Only refund if there's a technical issue or another "legitimate" reason.
Don't refund anything. You bought it, live with it.

Wow, you got a refund for games you bought that long ago? Maybe I should've tried to refund TW2, too lol

If you bought games back in January, I think you cannot refund, or you can? Since they refunded to you... also you played more than 2 hours, refund if 14 days after purchase and less than 2 hours played...kinda strange

Well, since the refunds came so recently, they probably are giving refunds for most games on the first 2 weeks, then it's all on the normal rules.

It's fairly simple, if they realize you're abusing the system, they'll lock you out of the refund system.
I recommend only requesting refunds when you really think you deserve a refund.

I'm sure this is the path I'll end up taking, but I was just really shocked to see that refunding a game because it wasn't fun was even an option.

yup. some people are getting banned for selling the cards they got from playing <2 hours of the refunded game. ( can't find comment but I read it on /r/steam on reddit)

You can't ask for a refund for a game that you bought in, for example, GreenManGaming, right? Because I didn't really like Borderlands 2 :p

Just make sure you think from Steam's POV. If your customer refunds the game after taking the advantage, how would you feel?

If you don't abuse the system, you'll be fine.
