The way I handle it is if there's some actual content to the post, I just close the thread (probably, not always, but usually). If it's a non-content post like '+1' or the like, it's a standard 3-day spam suspension. If it's something hostile/insulting/etc., it's a two-week spam suspension.

It's usually better to just make a new thread, since people go into it thinking it's a new thread and then realize after posting they just replied to a comment from 3 months ago, for example. It tends to cause confusion and general feeling like a moron as people realize the truth. But, as I said, I won't generally penalize someone for it, just close the thread if that's happening.

I was wondering if there was a certain rule, so I checked the FAQ. Nah, juts kidding, I just made a post asking about it.

I just like making smartass remarks so no offense, but are you sure it wasn't there, haven't checked it myself but it would be weird if they haven't put anything about it especially if they can suspend for it. I mean if it isn't there then resurrecting isn't actually breaking any rules.

Isn't it suspendable for bumping a thread that is a few months or older without saying anything related to it? I've been seeing it a bit today, and I remember getting a 2-day suspension for it a couple months ago, so I was wondering if that was still a rule
