...for 5€? (or $ etc.)

I thought it was a free game. What are the differences between the free version and this on Steam?

CORRECTION:

Game is for 10€, but now it's with -50% discount...

Angry Birds was fun when it released for the first time, not the countless milking that happened later. Nowadays it's all about the Subway Surfer's, Temple Run's etc etc

The free version has ads if Im correct.(of course, you can put your smartphone offline and basically play it without any ads whatsoever)

There is also (i think) a pack of levels that you have to pay in mobile version, and this one has them already.

It's not a free game but once again it' priced higher than iOS even though it's the same game, unless people can confirm the Steam version has more to it? I don't like this trend of charging people more for Steam games than iOS if it's just the same game.

Mobile games have always been underpriced, imo.

On Android it's a free game. But if it's not for free, so why the Steam version have that big price?

1 decade ago

Only some levels are free in the android and iOS version. For the rest of the game you have to pay. Can't remember though what I paid for it back then.

Fez is coming too, and the owner itself says "PCs are for spreadsheets"
Or they are doing it for money, to make pc gamers happy or just sharing the game around the available gaming methods and not making it a one-piece exclusive.

Well it was expected. It was listed on the database. I have no problem with them any new games to Steam. If you don't like it, then don't but it. I already own in on ios and even at a $5 half price it still seems pretty expensive.

First Angry Birds, now this... Does Steam want to be new Google Play market with shitty mobile games that should be played on a phone? And as I know it wasn't even greenlit... We should all boycott these shitty games.

1 decade ago

Why should the game be greenlit? Not every game that is added to Steam goes through Greenlight, you know.

I don't get it. What's the real deal of mobile games coming to PC?
I don't own any smartphone and I was quite happy when Angry Birds is ported to PC.

Oh no! Two mobile ports lets boycott these games that we weren't going to buy anyway!

It's almost like greenlight is only for smalltime developers or games that valve doesn't know.

  • "Shitty" is relative.
  • They're bestsellers on mobile devices. That's a pretty big feat for shitty games, isn't it?
  • Not everyone has a smartphone to play these things on.
  • Yes, they were originally made for mobile devices, but they play exactly the same on PC, so...what is the problem?
  • Some people like casual games.
  • Steam has all sorts of casual games on it already.
  • I don't believe anyone ever claimed Steam existed purely for big AAA games or something and I don't believe it's up to you to dictate what their standards should be.
  • You know, I don't think Bioshock Infinite was Greenlit either...not everything goes through Greenlight, genius.
  • Is anyone forcing you to buy it?

If you don't like it, ignore it and move on. It's not affecting you in any way. Believe it or not, you'll live.

I don't get why people complain about having more options on where to play, maybe it is annoying that they can make a choice? Maybe it is too much effort to choose, or what i believe is right, people complain for no reason, just to complain. You want to play on your Ipad, but maybe someone wants to play on your pc, you're not losing anything. Me too i dont see a point on playing it on pc, and i wont buy it but i should not care then, let someone have fun as they want to. Just look at Red Dead Redemption i want to play it on pc, but i can't.

Why? The more games on steam, the better.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know, I guess I'm slightly conservative about that heh (what I mean is, IT IS ON iOS FOR A REASON). Just leave those games to their natural habitat. Of course there's more than a few examples that would prove me otherwise (Dungeon Defenders coming to mind first), but come on, Highborn? Cut the Rope? Angry Birds? When does it end, with "Zombies, run!"? Or Temple Run?
Not to mention ridiculous prices.

1 decade ago

Err what?
It's not greenlit game at all.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's a bit silly. I mean yeah, it does make it easy for games that are complete crap to make it onto Steam (not that it's our place to decide what their standards are), but it also provides an opportunity for a lot of really great games that wouldn't otherwise get the chance.

Then there's the fact that this didn't go through Greenlight and has been a very well-established best seller for a least a couple years now, so what you're saying is irrelevant and making you sound a bit daft.
