Some customers are experiencing issues Installing or Playing GTAV due to a Windows User Account Name error.

Rockstar can do one of the greatest games ever but fail in stupid little mistakes, and its not the end users fault to use their native language for a windows nickname.

Is there a smooth release ever on pc?

GTA V IMO launched miles better than Mortal Kombat X.

That could be because - AFAIK - MKX is still not launched and there was some Steam malfunction with allowing access to it :P

Well, sometimes people let something too stupid and obvious to slip through. Though considering a pretty good game's performance and absence of major bugs, I'd say it's a pretty good release.

Look like Rockstar forgot that PC users have whole UTF-8 table of characters on their disposal.

DoA 5 Last Round seems to suck quite hard on pc as well, which is a shame, because I was looking forward for a good DoA game on PC.

The game itself is not bad, you still get to enjoy DOA, but they cut some corners and it fail to impress in a few areas. WE ended up not getting the soft engine and got last-gen particle effects as well. While it doesn't make the game look bad, it's sad to know that they already had the higher quality asset and chose not to use them.

The lack of multiplayer on launch day didn't affect me as I dont like to play games online anyway, but the removal of achievements (considering how easy they are to implement in Steam) is truly mind-boggling.

To be honest, as a software developer myself, this is the kind of things that's easy to miss in development. If no one in the dev or QA teams had any extended characters in their user account name the issue would have never presented itself. (Being French speaking and working witch a mix of French and English systems at work is actually an advantage for catching these kinds of issues.)

That explains the issue.

I believe San Andreas had same bug.

If you had dot in save path, it would fail to load saves.

Windows would also randomly(?) make user folder like: [username].[pcname], which would cause this problem it even if username didn't have dot in it.
