I'll probably get it just for Shadow Warrior as it's the only game I need out of the bundle. Not sure about the BTA though.

Anyone knows that duke Nukem here has got upgraded controls for today's needs? I tried playing the original not a long time ago and boy was it tough.

Have most except for Shadow Warrior.

Personally this bundle is better then 9.

Butbutbut FTL and Fez, I actually really enjoyed the below average games too.

Since when was Fez and FTL considered better then System Shock 2, Duke Nukem 3D, and well pretty much all of these except Hard Reset(arguably better still...)?

O_o

I get opinions and all but System Shock 2 alone is still considered one of the best games ever created and is a classic.

I love SS2. I don't care at all for Duke, though. Idk, I owned most in both bundles anyways.

So, is System Shock going to get into bundle list, when it was cheaper on Steam (2.49 during sales instead of this-bundle 2.50)?

yeah i was thinking about this too

Well its in a bundle so my guess is yes.

This gives you the soundtrack and DRM free copies as well. Instant multiplayer!

Not the DRM free copies unfortunately. Thankfully I already have it on GOG for that purpose.

1 decade ago

heh, humble stopped reliably doing that a long time ago. you can't assume drm free or cross platform (even when versions that are already exist and are redialy available)
this bundle is steam only

Yeeeesssss... bury me in a sea of System Shock 2 giveaways and I will die happy.

The $1 seems cool for those who don't have them. $5 for 2 $2.50 games though is excessive. That's not a humble bundle value like in the past, it's a store sale.

System Shock 2 is one of the best games of all time. It's worth the price-tag all by itself.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There's no deal for me or anyone buying the bundle since we can get them for those prices normally and that's the problem. There's nothing humble about it, it's full market price. Humble Bundles are not supposed to be full price. Now System Shock 2 is going to be a bundle game, even though it's selling for the same price it always goes on sale for. It's just a very stupid situation for them to have created.

When you look back on past bundles, games like Amnesia that went in the $1 bundle are now in significantly higher demand. No one will give this bundle a second glance once it passes though.

Already have all except BTA (Beat-That-Asshole who came up with 6$ tag). Pass on this one.

"The reason we decided to use this global average in the weekly sales is because some developers were getting scared away from being featured due to very low averages of around 2-3 dollars. In order to keep being able to bring great content to our customers we wanted to test out this compromise. Do you feel like $6 is too much to pay for the BTA content?"

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Good point. But 6$ for 2 games I'm not interested in is indeed too much for me.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In this case, yes it is. It's not that the games aren't good, it's that it's their full market price already. Had they gone...$4.50, that would have been a great deal. Or $5 even, not bad either. $6? They're just saying "we're fine with our regular sale prices". That's not a humble attitude at all. If that's what they want, they should stick to putting their games on sale in stores like Steam, GMG and Amazon. There is literally no difference and the attention they're bringing is only negative.

that wasn't my words. it was an answer I got when I asked about it being static. so you'd have to go to humble bundle with your constructive consumer feedback.
but they're a bit lagged from the origin messages(so it took a day or so to register keys. why would so many go to humble instead of origin with their problems? taking longer to read all the messages than it did for the issue to fix itself) so give them a break on response times

He meant to type that it's way better than Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. It's an awesome game.

Opinions vary. I didnt like it either. Love the graphics and setting, but the monster variety felt lacking and the enemies felt like they had way too much health. This is coming from a Serious Sam/Painkiller Black fan so dont think I hate mindless shooting!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I thought the enemies were fun to fight, but they did lack variety (too many generic chasing/ramming enemies). I also didn't like how, despite trying to emulate the style of Doom/Unreal/Quake, your move speed was just so damn SLOW.

Other then that, it's solid fun. Still a lot better then any "modern" fps by far.

You make a better game, then. Hard Reset has a pretty interesting setting, good graphics and classy gameplay. It does get a bit monotonous, but it's short, and really fun. Not as good as Serious Sam or Duke, but very good nevertheless.

Did anyone else get Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter for free when they activated their First Encounter key?

This is weird. I have Second Encounter in my library, but when I go to the store page it doesn't say I own it. :S

So then it's a Steam error. Interesting... guess I'll hold on to the SE key for now.

A while back they made Second Encounter like it is DLC to the first one. So, until you redeem that key, or get the full game otherwise, you will basically just have the demo version of the Second Encounter.

6$ is too much, not long ago ss2 was 2,5$ at gog and HR was in bundle - ill wait and grab only 1$ tier which is awsome

tell them on twitter or something for feedback to speed up the process. saying it here does nothing. saying it's too much there will help them settle on a price to fix that works.(they're fixing weeklies at 6 to attract the devs but if nobody buys it and no feedback happens there that number'll randomly jump around a bit until they find one they like)
(i wouldn't say to do that except the actually asked)

This is a crazy deal Shadow Warrior and Duke I gladly played $5+ for each and going to do it again. I would have almost even payed $6 later to get the SS2 trading cards... but I will definitely pay $1 for the trading cards for Duke on another account I have. Those cards are worth a lot!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

re:card value...for about 2 more days. probably much less. lol

(as long as both "the three cards I can get from each of the 4 games are collectively worth more than a dollar" and "The bundle is still running" are true the value will plummet as accounts are made to idle cards, or did you think you'd be the only one to think of the cards being "worth a lot" ;])

It's Classic Redux, not just Classic SW, which is free to play.

You get one key for both that and Duke3d that activates both simultaneously.

Original DOS versions are included with the Reduxed SW/DN though, in all their pixelated glory.
