Haven't played any D.Q. games, but a good series is always welcomed on PC :)

And the releases of Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger are forgotten already? Most people where not that happy with these games...

I managed to enjoy SoM, despite the regular crashes. It would've been unsalvageable without the autosave feature. Chrono Trigger I'm waiting on community patches because... yikes.
The newly-developed games tend to have a better track record but it's clear they spend more time on some than others. My <3 will be crushed if they end up botching this one.

Yay, finally a proper Dragon Quest game! But man, September 4? I didn't expect an announcement made THAT much in advance. Hope they take their time to make a proper port this time.

I hope so too. At least they didn't pull a Chrono Trigger and announce/release it the same day, so hopefully that's a good sign. Plus there's no inferior version to port from :)

I am a huge fan of the Dragon Quest games since I first discovered them, so yeah, i'm really happy to know that a new game is releasing, especially on PC! :D

Nice! I wanted to give this game a go but it wasn't coming to pc. And i'm not going to buy a new game system just to play it XD (not to mention it's not coming to the 3ds, but honestly I wouldn't buy it for the 3ds even if it was)

Thanks for the links. Well that sucks that there will be no 3DS version for the West despite the fact that they are going to translate the game for other platforms anyway. I thought that there would be because I had gotten the impression that they had been working on it for awhile. Anyway, maybe we can hope for a fan-made translation hack of the Japanese version one day.

Yeah, I remember cycling through the second one a few times, just for fun, before finally accepting my fate. I normally try to choose the "wrong" answer first in order to see everything, if I think the "right" answer will be forced anyway -- I'm not sure if that got me into trouble the first time I faced the Dragonlord or if I already knew about the consequences there.

Oh yeah, lol. Never thought about that. They effectively force your choices until the very last screen of the game and then punish you for it, hah. Good stuff.

Dragon Quest XI was just announced to be coming to Steam & PS4, which I guess is pretty common now but it also marks the first mainline Dragon Quest game to come to Steam! Here's the store page:

If you've never heard of or played the series, it's a lot like Final Fantasy but with more... fantasy.
It's certainly nothing like this game.
Anyone as pumped as I am? I hope they re-release the originals on Steam at some point, so long as they don't give it the Chrono Trigger treatment...
