Hey! I'm a pretty active CSGO player and I made this thread because I have a big interest in CSGO operations for some reasons (greedy laugh). A user made this sketch about some of the old operations, like when they came out, the time between each operation, etc. http://i.imgur.com/SzhY7kp.jpg What do you think? When will the new operation come out? I think it is gonna come out either next Wednesday, 20th July, or 27th July. Op. Wildfire came out on a Wednesday... Its been quite a few weeks since Wildfire ended. What do you guys think?

Maybe it will be a TAC-21 case, considering the new .wav files of it added in current update.

TAC-21 is a sniper rifle. Just as was R8 Revolver in the Revolver Case, i expect a case having the TAC-21 in it.

That sounds like another revolver distaster in the making...
Unless Valve will go against their own words and start doing "cosmetic guns exchanges", keeping all stats the same, just different look (something they said they won't do to not confuse competitive gaming with 100 different models for same gun).

hold on, you mean like the guys from Payday 2 did? Different skins = different stats? No way in hell they'd do something like that. Its the worst think i can think about.
A new sniper rifle would fuck up the game (oh... remember the "good ol' days" when revolver came out and dealt more damage than awp? oh yah we all remember that). Then they'd have to nerf it, and redo some mechanics, etc. But to be honest, why not more guns? Im in for it baby.

No, like CSGO did - revolver replaces Desert Eagle, but has different stats, same with CZ-75 that replaced first p250 then tec/5-7, but is completely different gun than those.

So far it looks like TAC 21 will be either SSG08 or AWP, but with silencer. Seeing how they will probably not touch AWP due to it's iconic status, it probably will be SSG08 replacement. So, either it will see very little use, just like SSG08 doesn't see much use, or it will be OP weapon like revolver, until they'll nerf it week later to be never seen again (just like revolver, that is only used by smurfs on Silver games ;) ).

But to be honest, why not more guns? Im in for it baby.

Because new weapons can either get new stats, making tons of balancing issues, or they will be only cosmetic replacements (look at knives, different models, all work the same), which in time can cause troubles in competitive mode (like "was that M40 a scout or AWP, did they make AKSU to replace Galil or AK47" - that sort of issues).

when did csgo had m40 or AKSU ? i bought csgo when the operation pheonix was ending... bought the operation in that time too.
btw, i consider SSG as having a lot of use. I use it pretty much often. Its really not hard to go for headshots with it. you move with it as if you had a knife in your hands. very light and efficient.
yes, balance issues, but they'll find a way to balance the game. They're "smart-ish". Not like companies such as RiotGames. There are like 25 champs broken as hell in their game (League of Legends)

I'd say between November 2016 and January 2017. It's not going to be next week, that'd be too soon as the tendency has been increasing gaps between operations.

Operation Bloodhound ended on 1 October 2015. Wildfire started in mid-February. That's 4.5 months of wait, I'd say we're getting no less than that.

Also, Operation Wildfire has been extended for 1 month - it technically ends tomorrow only.

now i saw your edit... well... thats pretty accurate... well, i guess i shouldnt waste every night and wait till 3am (my time) to see when they release the new operation.

I hate the fact that they released every operation and new case at 3 freaking AM(my time)... I'm like checkin their blog 5-8 times/day... my routine when i open up the browser (their blog and other websites), and then i go to sleep and wake up seeing they release the new operation and i missed some good profit :D

Well, fck didnt know they extended it... No wonder i kept seeing the contracts for the Wildfire operation hah...Well i'll be damned.

AFAIK around this weekend is/was the last day to send your map to Steam Workshop to be considered to be used in next operation. So, it will take around a month at least to pick maps and maybe fix them for final release.
For Wildfire Operation, it took Valve at least 3 months between "final date to upload map to workshop" and releasing Wildrire.
And then, there's summer, so there can be summer breaks.
All in all, shouldn't happen before October.

Nope :D
Well, maybe if you're student and have free September, as there is a little chance if Valve will work fast, then maps will be ready for then.
But that's like 1% chance.
