The picture was a certain character from a certain manga/anime. It didn't really help me, it even threw me off a bit because it led to a couple of misleading quotes. Solved it eventually by trying a bunch of words after the new "1 word" hint.
The game has "profile features limited" if that helps in your decision.

the image does help put you on the right track to a degree if you are more familiar with the manga/anime.

i tried maybe 80 different words, both positive and negative, without any luck

Well Deep Thought did take 7.5 million years to come up with 42 so inflation might be irrelevant at this point but considering the rate at which it's going, it would make sense that there would be some degree of fluctuation, right?
Ofc the value of said degree is the real question. We're probably at something like 142 now. Answers may vary depending on the Steam region too.

That's because it's not a puzzle with a logical way to solve it, it's a guessing game. There has been over 17,000 guesses and only 65 people have managed to guess the right word.
Edit: 66 solvers now. After coming back to this thread 5 or 6 times and probably over 100 guesses, I managed to find the right word.
