more than 60fps on a 60hz monitor?

is improving fps important on a 60hz monitor? my monitor is 60hz and I see 90fps on fraps while playing wow. is this unnecessary? should i use vsync? i dont see a tearing.

Use vsync, anything more than 60fps is needlessly heating your GPU and the human eye can barely detect anything beyond that.

Oh, you can see more, but not if the screen canΒ΄t show them.
Vsync can cause input lag so you might want to try finding a way to limit the frames differently.

Higher FPS always feels far smoother to me even on a 60Hz monitor. Vsync creates input lag and will probably lower minimum frame rate as well. Depends on how much you're annoyed by screen tearing.
