Hey,

So I'm getting a new laptop and hopefully will save a 100 dollars by not buying the OS with the laptop. My school gives free downloads of windows and I was going to make it into a bootable USB. I was wondering if the USB would be the same as a backup disc or if buying a backup disc would be beneficial?

thanks guys.

It be the same thing, no point buying a backup recovery disk. Besides 99% of the time recovery doesn't fix issues and I have to resort to Linux to fix it.

If we are talking about DreamSpark, isn't the disc expensive as hell? Think it was $5-15 dollars not too sure, I just remember there was a 5 in it.

And oh, I was talking about recovery options for Windows isn't that great. Especially when I have MBR issues, only linux can fix those issues.

yeah, the backup disc is almost 14 dollars for me, and I see. I'm not to familiar with MBR, guess I'm not as tech savvy as I thought :P

Yeah, so fail it still holds the largest market share in this Earth for OS.

Your logic at its finest. NOT.

Actually, Windows can fix most of the silly MBR issues it causes, it's just rather annoying.

screw the discs. You can make bootable usb without any problems whatsoever. More to say about access time difference between the two + faster read speed which all comes to one thing, faster installation. Yes, it will be the same. You just have to make usb drive active for boot and copy the files to the drive.

Format the USB stick to NTFS and, with the ISO, use Rufus or unetbootin to make the Bootable USB. After installation, go to

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/54168-Windows-Loader-Download, download Daz Loader and run it, choose Install. Simple.
Oh, some antivirus programs and Malwarebytes Antimalware will say that the Daz Loader is infected. This is a false positive, you have nothing to worry about. In fact, if you have Antimalware and it DOES detect it, you'll even see by the Infection column that it's just classed as a "Hacktool" and not actually a virus

I doubt he needs the loader, and I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to discuss and share it here as it's illegal loader

The backup disk has the same contents as the ISO. Why would you buy it? Just burn a DVD yourself from the ISO you download, lol.

Thanks for all the answers! I'm taking it that the USB is the same as the backup disc and I don't need to buy one.
