I've saved some tuppence and have decided to get myself a little gift this coming Christmas, but I need some opinions on which next gen console I should get. PS4 or XB1?

I would love to play The Master Chief Collection on the XB1. Halo was a huge part of my gaming life. Also XB1 has Sunset Overdrive which looks really neat. Project Spark looks cool too.

On the other hand PS4 has Little Big Planet 3 which I am really excited about (I know it's coming to PS3 I don't own a PS3 or want one.) Also PS4 has the Last of Us Remastered edition which I'd really like to play.

Might as well go Xbox one for halo. Pretty good deal for the amount you get with it.

Might as well get a Wii U. You won't ever find a Mario game on the PC, while Bone and PS4 games will be on PC.

Well not all PS4 and Xbox One games will be on PC, I can name a few that will unlikely ever be on PC
Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Metal Gear Solid 5, Little Big Planet 3, their are probably a few more that i have missed but these are the main ones that I know are console exclusives

As many other i'd say it would be better to upgrade your PC, but since thats not what you want i'd suggest getting a Nintendo console. They have fun games that you will not be able to experience on a PC, most of the PS4 or XBoxOne are going to come out on PC or you will be able to play something similar, Nintendo games are unique and you might be able to have some fun with that if those kind of games are your thing.

If you want PS4 vs XboxOne recommendation i'd personally go for PS4, but the best idea would be to just see the existing and upcoming games, compare them and decide for yourself

As silly as the suggestion may seem, Nintendo consoles make excellent secondary gaming platforms (after PC). Lots of exclusives that have no chance of appearing anywhere else, and they scratch an itch that other games just don't. I think I've had more pure fun with my Wii last gen than either my PS3 or my 360. I had a lot of good times with those two, but it just wasn't ever like it was with the Wii.

Build a nice PC for the same/less than either. I spent just over $500 for parts(And OS) for a nice enough PC. It is running everything smoothly.

I got a PS4 myself, and, so far, Xbox One, when it comes to games, it is a better option

Everything will be on PC one day.All hail to the master race.Upgrade your PC, stay loyal and get rewarded.

Well, if it's like you HAVE TO buy one, if you don't buy a console then the world will explode THEN buy a PS4.XBOX is a failed console, Microsoft made is specially for USA customers and PS4 outsold it even in USA.XBOX1 is the greatest failure since Windows 8.

If you want a serious opinion, ignore everyone that aligned with a side in the previous comments. Also these topics usually end up with hate all over the boards and support usually have to suspend someone as a price for creating such topics.

Here's my opinion, i currently own a xbox one for not too long, i'm not going to lie, i'm a fanboy of Halo franchise (i have all them xbox released titles, excluding special editions) and a little bit of Forza franchise. From what i experienced with my new console, i enjoy the new controller much more than the old one. The Operating System itself looks crappier than on 360, at first it looks like a mess when navigating untill you get used to it. Right now, xbox one has better game titles to enjoy compared to ps4. This is the reality, no matter what people will say about it. If you played both systems like me in the past and enjoyed it's games, i would advise buying xbox one first, there are better releases down the line this year. Not to mention you get alot more apps on xbox one than on ps4 right now.

Now about ps4, a friend of mine bought destiny bundle + white ps4, i played with it the day we got them aswell. What i enjoyed about ps4, the introduction to the new system is pretty amazing. It teaches you the technology behind the new controller via a fun "tutorial", which was a positive thing over xbox one. Navigating is also a little easier than on xbox one. The controller is fun to mess around but it's not the best of the two when it comes to serious gaming experience. PS4's controller has the tech but it doesn't quite feel as good as xbox one's controller. I should mention PS4 kinda lacks in the games right now as opposed to xbox one which are already out and coming shortly next month. PS4 seems to get serious next year with some good exclusives, which may come to pc, given how things are going so far. Seems like only true exclusives of each system will remain exclusive in the end.

I'm not going to tell you what you should buy, i myself am doing it this way: first xbox one, second ps4 (after i see game reviews on the exclusives). It's up to you to decide in the end.

Neither. It's still too early in the cycle for either console.

PS4, hands down. I have actually enjoyed an XBox since the original console. They have been extremely disappointing ever since.
