I just got an email from humble stating that they're carrying nintendo titles (limited switch and 3ds) now and I have a $5 coupon in my HB account for anything over $20.

So.....does anyone think we'll be seeing Nintendo titles in future bundles from them? The selection is limited, but, maybe that's only the beginning.

In case you are not aware of it:
Nintendo Switch (Unfortunately not the 3DS) is basically region free, as long as you make a new account for the region you want.
You can create an account for the US region and redeem US-only games you bought. At least Nintendo widely sponsored the region-free Switch concept in one of the directs in early 2018, so it should work like this...

You don't even need to create a US acc. You can change your region freely. Nintendo does not operate in my country, so I've bought games from the russian, south african and mexican store. I just had to go to mynintendo.com, login, click on my profile to choose my "country" and click again to confirm.

Monthlies are only for PC games tho. Throwing console games into the bunch would just cause people to not buy them and I don't think they could pull off a console only monthly alternative either, but who knows.

They said Monthlies are only for Steam games and here we are, people are already not buying them because they have games for other platforms.

When did they ever say it was steam games only? Pretty sure they always included at least 1 drm-free game at the very least (usually a humble original) and never specifically said they'd only make steam keys available.
And different storefronts within the same platform is hardly the same as juggling games for a variety of them. You might not want to use a specific store, but you have the option and they're free to download and use. If you don't have the specific console a game is for, then you're shit out of luck and I don't think people would gamble on the monthlies just to risk getting games for platforms they don't own.

It said so on their site until they started putting Blizzard Games in there and people complained about them going back on their word.. so they changed it.
I'm actually glad they still only put that junk up as early unlocks so people get a chance to pause

Several times in the history before they started ruining the bundles with Destiny and other crap. Nobody was complaining about HB Originals which were more like greenlight, just waiting to get on Steam. Being forced to use UCrap or whatever is far worse than being asked to buy a nice console.

From "The games come in the form of Steam keys or DRM-Free downloads" to "The games will be delivered in Steam key format or DRM-Free (occasional exceptions apply)." so what's to stop them from adding more occasional exceptions.

Willing to bet on it? ^^ Won't happen. Adding games for another launcher for the platform your customers have is one thing. Adding games for a platform many of your customers definitely do not have is something completely different and will not happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start having regular console bundles each week.

Interesting, I got a 3DS long after humbles Nintendo bundles, so kinda missed out on them.

Unfortunately I'm in the UK, so they don't show up in my store. What games are they stocking?

Not only is that USA only so not for me, but I also rather buy my console games psychical when possible, maybe I am a dying breed with that...

Yeah I am totally with you there. If I'm paying $60, I want to be able to resell them down the line. Digital games I have a limit of around $20, being as I won't be getting any of that back.

I mean not that I would sell a game fast, just feels weird to have console games digital, I am not even sure if I have an account for Nintendo or whatever and if you buy digital you can only bring so many games with you before your memory is full while physical games take so much less memory so I can just take all of them with me and change whenever + I could actually lend someone else my game if I would want to and yes, in case I want I could actually sell them as well!

Yeah I am a hoarder as well, I try to collect all the Nintendo exclusives for their consoles. But it just feels a lot better spending so much money knowing I have something of value one day. My steam account holds a lot of value but is basically worthless at the same time. Whereas my console collection is worth a fair amount of real money. And as you say console storage is always at a premium, so better to keep as much on disc or cartridge as you can.

I think Steam is great and I rather have all my games on there then spread out BUT the games are, in the end, useless indeed because we just get a license to be allowed to play a game, we don't own anything! Sure Steam has Family Sharing or whatever that is called, but if I would have friends/family that would like to play a game I have it's much easier to lend them a game you can hold in your hands and what if the store or whatever it's called decides to stop working and just vanishes, you do lose everything and though I still keep doing that with PC games, I rather don't do that with console games, I have 2 boxes full of old games (ps1, ps2, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, gameboy, GBA, NDS) in the other room, I don't play them, but they are there, I even sold a bunch of old games I in the end didn't like enough, etc.

+1 to this. But I very much doubt nintendo would ever bundle their first party titles. I mean they still sell games from 30 years ago. But I think maybe they could do a nindie bundle with the switch? I'd love that too, as so far the only games I have for my switch are odyssey, mario kart and breath of the wild. (Smash is next on the list though)

Looks like the 10% discount for Humble Monthly subscribers doesn't apply

Edit: no 5% for wallet/charity either

But if the store is region restricted to just the U.S. you would generally need a U.S. based account/address/credit to purchase.
As the playstation ones were also restricted (even though physical games are still playable), it's unlikely we'll see anything different.

Not that I care about games for consoles I don't have, just adding my 2¢

Just to clarify, I'm not thinking we'll get first party games for a buck, but if humble will sell them at all, it's only a short step before they start carrying other games, like the more indie one....and then, a bundle is well within our grasps I'd wager.

I just hope if it ever happens, they focus on one console (Switch or 3Ds) and don't try to blend them.
