Well, if both of you think this way..because it's possible that he did the same because of the same reason. Does that mean that scamming is the price of progress?

This was a great move by you indeed, I myself must remember this in the future... However having a quick copy paste explaining the reasoning of giving the other partner an invalid key if it happens to be that his/hers works!

And of course it does not. If he/she would have had any intention of giving you a real key, then more grumpiness would have occurred.
However, smart thinking and really a quite exciting read! ^_^
