Favorite game with female protagonist hmmmm. I'd have to go with these off the top of my head:
It's always hard to judge on the representation question tbh.
And I do want to play Cognition Erica Reed thriller too...

Three of my very favorite games and favorite female protagonist games.
I actually have Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller. Just need time to play it.

I am not much of a retro gamer, but adventure games never really get old. Stories don't get old. :)

Portal is the first thing that jumps to mind as a favorite.

Thanks for sharing Ramblings. Portal 2, but I don't think all women are fat orphans. Final Fantasy VI, I don't recall Terra ever doing anything I would consider to be much of normal.

Beyond Good and Evil, Okami and Metroid Prime are 3 I can think of right now. It's kind of impossible to represent such a huge group of people with many different personalities (none the less a trait you are born with). So I'd say no, they are good characters in their own rights, but it would be crazy to say they represent females as there's bound to be some female that would disagree (I'd say the same thing for male protagonists as well).

I think the word I used is confusing. I was thinking more along the lines of having well-written, non-objectified women who are given focus and a rich personality and backstory, depending on the game. In that sense, you can name characters who have those traits and therefore represent women honestly. I was not speaking about specific personality types, since human beings are diverse and unique. I was speaking about the developers' approach in how the characters are handled. Hope that helped clarify my question. And you have some interesting titles there!
