There is a phrase that gets passed around throughout generations, "Knowledge is power". Learning and gaining information is vital to progressing forward in almost all aspects of life. In some areas of the world however, the need of education is greatly needed. This is what the Canadian International Learning Foundation plans to do about those needs:
"CanILF" is an Ottawa-based, volunteer-run registered charity which provides and promotes employment-oriented education in areas of the world affected by poverty, war and disease epidemics (at-risk areas).
CanILF seeks to achieve its goals through the following activities:
Scholarships and Infrastructure – Awarding scholarships to students who demonstrate academic potential, community service and leadership, and to provide educational equipment (such as computers or textbooks) to the schools they attend;
Online Courses – Providing education (such as courses in entrepreneurship, business management or Information Technology) to students via the Internet; and
Mentoring – Offering instruction, advice and practical assistance on planning, management and proposal writing to the leaders of educational institutions.
