Welcome to the twelfth week of the Final Fantasy Giveaways!
So let me just say that this is my least favourite FF in all the series. If you really want to make things easier the game actively tells you to not level up otherwise the monsters get stronger and I think it's kind of a lame mechanic.
Another thing is that I'm not giving away the Remastered version because Square really let me down on that one. A port of the mobile version? Remastered? Really Square? Damn.
Enjoy the better version which is this one.
I will add you on Steam to gift you the game!

I also made a steam group where I will announce whenever I make new giveaways and will hold group only giveaways in the future, check it out if you are interested: Steam Group

For me its the second best game in the series and probaply the one I replayed the most. Iยดm not blind to its flaws, but IMHO the strenghts outwheight them by far.
I already own both version on Steam, but as always, thanks for sharing!
And somehow I feel compelled to leave this here:

Not saying it's a bad game of course. Just that the mechanics they tried to introduce, except for being way too convoluted in my opinion, are not actually suitable for my way of playing these games. The story is kinda strange but I somehow liked it. Also I'm probably biased towards Squall's Kingdom Hearts version since that's the one I got to know before playing this game.

Definitely with ya on not being a fan of level scaling (although I do think FFVIII provides ample ways to mitigate it and turn the power imbalance on its head very early on). We're on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of ranking it, though--for me, it might be the best out of all of them. Or, well, the one I like the most, at least. I don't think most of the game design is objectively as good as that of the games it's sandwiched between. But the vibes and locales and bizarre, almost Twin Peaksy bits of unreality are just unmatched in the series, and rarely touched in gaming, period, as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks a ton for the chance, and for the awesome string of Final Fantasy giveaways in general. \o/

I think it's a very underrated game. The problem are mainly the game mechanics. Square released a string of videogames based on the leveling up and equipment mechanic and then introduced something completely different and new in FF8. Where actual levels may not matter at all if you think about it.
In my opinion a remake of this game with updated graphics, no change to the story and updated combat would revive it completely, but that's just my opinion and I do understand people who like it like this.
