I never play racing games, but I am curious. Do you prefer realistic simulators or more imaginative ones?

I never touch this genre either... Others have a great time with them though.. Always preferred story rich or puzzle games...

A solid racing sim can be great, but they don't deviate much in terms of looks or feel. Any racing game that can distinguish itself from the pack and play well, even if it's insane, is worth checking out, in my opinion. Imagine a game about a bunch of brightly colored sheep with wings, trying to stampede through various puzzle-platformer-esk dreamscapes in an effort to be counted first by their dreamer. Sounds different, right? Well, variety is the spice of life.

Racing sleep-sheep does sound fun. Variety is truly great! :)

I do play racing games... I probably fall under the more realistic style but with some arcade control being fine. Harder simulation type racing can be a challenge to do well in. Plus there is always the kart racing genre

The last time I enjoyed a racing "simulator" was Lotus III on the Amiga. Good times.

To me it's more important that's an arcade racer and not one with realistic physics (I suck at those)...
