Was the comma intentional, or was it indeed a screw up? Because it confused me. Great hint in the thread, by the way.

The comma is intentional. It is there to denote multiple uses of that letter.

Ah. Got it. I counted that letter twice when I wrote them out (GVVXY), so it was both letter 2 and letter 3, and then when I did the 3421two thing it didn't work (VXVGv). Then I wondered why there'd be 5 letters if there were only 4 in the 3421two thing, so I got rid of it, and it all worked out. Hooray!

I actually counted both V's as number two, so the two rather than 2 can serve as a clue to the case of the letter. Anyways great job!
