In English, it would be either The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S93lvQ4Ukg8 or The Hangman by Maurice Ogden: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRDq7aneXnk , with an honorable mention of Washington Crossing the Delaware by David Shulman
In Czech, Sedmá elegie by Jiří Orten: http://web.quick.cz/asasek/orten/htm/bas6.htm

I don't really have a favourite poet. But I appreciated Bacovia's work. One of a few romanian writers I liked growing up. His poems might sound different in English, though. you could consider him a symbolist, in the vein of Poe, and the like. his stuff is melancholic.
I don't have a favourite poem, either. But most recently I read Wilfred Owen's "Dulce et decorum est", which I like.
