Let me see, in ten hours it'll be 22:45 here, 12 hours after that means 10:45. I hope to be able to redeem before the 12 hour window (maybe upping it to 24 hours will be friendlier to other time zones.)

16 should likely be the minimum, and 24'd definitely be more agreeable;
But with an unredeemed giveaway blocking a 'giveaway slot', it's a bit frustrating if I don't know if the person is even going to pick up the game or not. If it wasn't for the 3-giveaway limit, it'd be a 48 hour window, but as is, it's much more reassuring to me to have someone have posted 'yep, I'll be picking this up, hold on to it', than to idle away for a day or more waiting on someone I haven't heard a peep from.
Thereby, the point of this is more to prove that the person in question is communicative, than to restrict the pick-up window to a narrow time frame.
Thus, if you've commented, don't worry about a time window, unless you're planning a sudden vacation :P
