Dinosaurs were just a form of reptiles anyway ;-)

And quite honestly if you ask me, crocodiles are perfectly alive dinosaurs.

The common theme of "long necks" (Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus etc) being attacked by T. rex could have never happened, because Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus etc. lived during the late Jurassic (ca 150 Mio years ago), while the T. rex did not evolve until ca 65 Mio years ago (Cretaceous), with the former dinosaurs already being distinct again.
For details, see http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/on-dinosaur-time-65556840/?no-ist

And thanks! :D

Ever asked yourself when dinosaurs lived?

Although the Bible does not tell us exactly how long ago it was that God made the world and its creatures, we can make a good estimate of the date of creation by reading through the Bible and noting some interesting passages:

  1. God made everything in six days. He did this, by the way, to set a pattern for mankind, which has become our seven day week (as described in Exodus 20:11). God worked for six days and rested for one, as a model for us. Furthermore, Bible scholars will tell you that the Hebrew word for day used in Genesis 1, can only mean an ordinary day in this context.
  2. We are told God created the first man and woman—Adam and Eve—on Day Six. Many facts about when their children and their children’s children were born are given in Genesis. These genealogies are recorded throughout the Old Testament, up until the time of Christ. They certainly were not chronologies lasting millions of years.

As you add up all of the dates, and accepting that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth almost 2000 years ago, we come to the conclusion that the creation of the Earth and animals (including the dinosaurs) occurred only thousands of years ago (perhaps only 6000!), not millions of years. Thus, if the Bible is right (and it is!), dinosaurs must have lived within the past thousands of years.

They first appeared during the Triassic period, 231.4 million years ago, and were the dominant terrestrial vertebrates for 135 million years, from the end of the Triassic (about 231 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous (66 million years ago), when the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event led to the extinction of most dinosaur groups (and some three-quarters of plant and animal species on Earth) at the close of the Mesozoic Era.

Look, I has a proof source too!

Sorry to miss the joke. I'd just watched the debate between Nye and Ham earlier this morning so your post made me start having traumatic flashbacks.

Ohhhh I'm sorry about that :> i just thought : "if the Bible is right (and it is!)" would be enough to show how scientific this article was.
Well at least I was laughing when I read that...

Jurassic Park on SNES was a pretty cool game, but if you don't know what to do it can take multiple days to play. It has no save feature or password system whatsoever :(

That was part of what kept me coming back to the game. It felt pretty expansive, kind of like a dinosaur Zelda with the indoor first person sections being the equivalent of dungeons. Finally beating the game was well worth all the days put into it.

There was a time when I was living encyclopedia of facts about dinosaurs... There was such a time :(.

I'm on a trip right now so just a small one.
Some last research says Tyrannosaurus Rex wasn't the mightiest predator but just a silly unimpressing scavenger. However still he was hunting from time to time but that wasn't often.

An interesting trivia about Jurassic Park the movie...

The Triceratops dung was made out of clay, mud and straw and didn't smell at all. They attracted flies to it by drizzling it with honey and papayas.

When Michael Crichton was writing Jurassic Park, he chose Deinonychus as the most intelligent, vicious and dangerous of the dinosaurs. But the name sounded a bit boring, so he replaced the name with that of a related dinosaurus, Velociraptor. The actual Velociraptors were much smaller than Deinonychus, similar in size to a large turkey.

Watch the movie Dinosaur 13. It's a documentary about the finding of the 13th known T. Rex skeleton and what occurs after it is found. Much more interesting than it sounds.

Although the word dinosaur means "terrible lizard", the name is somewhat misleading, as dinosaurs are not lizards.

The stegosaurus could have weighed up to 5000kg and probably only had a top speed of 3-4mph due to his weight and little legs. thx
