Stop and read if you want a better chance to win games!

This giveaway is for a cheap bundled game. There are much better giveaways that you might be missing out on. Do you want to be able to enter those giveaways, and get a better chance to win games? Here are some tips:

  • Level up. You can actually do it without spending money. More here.
  • Participate in the forum. A couple of great reasons to do it:
    • Many of the discussions are not only interesting, but also include additional giveaways. Some in the form of posts with random links to giveaways that are not listed in the Giveaways page (these are called "invite-only giveaways", but anyone who sees the link can enter). Some other giveaways in the form of "trains" (multiple linked giveaways), and finally there are some giveaways which are only accessible if you complete a puzzle. Many of the forum giveaways are for games with great reviews, and the number of entries is typically much lower than public giveaways (those listed on the Giveaways page), providing far better odds. See for example this thread for more.
    • If you're opinionated and well versed, some people may add you to their whitelists because of what you write, regardless of the number of giveaways you created (if at all). Whitelist-based giveaways are frequently for unbundled games and have a relatively low number of entries.
  • Join giveaway groups. See this sub forum for group that recruits new users. Restricted to groups giveaways are quite common. Read the group rules first as some will require to contribute some giveaways before applying, as most groups have some requirements for entry.
  • Read giveaway descriptions before entering. It's not only the polite thing to do, but as an added bonus you may discover some additional giveaways linked in the text.
  • Thanking for won game It is in good taste (although not obligatory) to say thanks on giveaway page if you have won that giveaway (but read description of giveaway first - as there may be exceptions). Saying thanks in such case is not only nice in general, but it may provide you with the entrance to the contributor whitelist and as a result to even more giveaways.
  • Learn to manage your points There will be times when you'll be out of points, or your points may be overflowing. In case when you are low on points, join the giveaways that have less entries first (usually 1 hour, or restricted to region or level). If you are at your max and there are hardly any games that you want, then join long running giveaways, when the interesting giveaway show up, you can join more by increasing the point poll thanks to the points from resignation from "buffer" long running giveaways.

Good luck and have fun!

Thank you, E.

(What about saying thanks when entering a GA? I consider it to be polite so I always do so, unless the giver specifically requests no thanks).

Well, it depends. Personally I don't mind on my GA's. On one hand saying "thank you" in general is nice, but on the other hand I do understand people who are checking notifications and there is 100 posts with: thanks (also since it is proven there are forbidden auto-joiners, the rumor that there is also auto-sender with: "Thank you" is becoming very likely). Also saying thank you for the "entry in lottery" is a bit over doing IMHO. So, from the other site if GA creator says nothing I only say thank you if I win, but if GA creator is asking a question, or asks for thanks, then I try to answer it.

I always say Thanks on GA's it may look generic for some to see just the word Thanks but I do it anyways because I know I mean it. Obviously like Kipper said if someone requests that they don't want comments I wouldn't post on there. Personally I like it when people put Thanks on my GA's. I've found a couple of those hidden GA's you spoke about they were a link hidden as a full stop :)

I'm the same, I always say some form of thanks in a giveaway I enter, unless the creator specifically asks for people not to. It just feels polite to me, I mean, people don't need to be giving their games away for free, so I actually do appreciate what they're doing. Just my opinion though.

So thanks ebbpp for the giveaway and beginner's guide!
