If it was my only key I would never knowingly put it up on SG public giveaways. I would go first in trades, or give away to a friend, as you said.
The reason I mentioned a possible activation issue is just that: This key might work and might not, however I have more than one key, so if it did not, the key would be replaced with a good one. All I have to do is modify the key settings once the giveaway's over, and they can activate the new one.
(recently deleted joking scam instruction) I am about 90% sure this key works, however.
