Have you been playing the recent update? Good stuff.

Daaamn :D I yield! I yield! Please don't take my head off with your Terrarian because I ####### yield! :D

No, I haven't yet. I don't have to create a new world for the wiring update to apply, right?

Actually the new update suits me perfectly because I've only recently aquired the last items and NPCs to play around with mechanisms. I've only tried simple stuff yet like updating my herb farm with dart traps for harvesting or building a safety barrier out of living wood around my house (which is also made out of living wood and adjoined to the roots of a giant tree on a hill right next to the spawn for Blood Moon, but I'm looking forward to more complex projects.

There's not much that is map-dependent in the new update, so you won't be totally missing out on anything by not creating a new world. Geyser traps and the new monster/critter statues are about all that were added in 1.3.1 which are placed when you generate a new world; everything else is bought from an NPC (mostly the Mechanic and Steampunker).

I would head here to download the adventure map that was made for the new update to show off the new wiring stuff, though. It's really cool.

Thanks :) For now I'm quite attached to my Hobbit hole but I have to admit those geyser traps are pretty cool so I might grab a few from a new world and bring them back to Midgard.

Will do. I haven't tried any adventure maps yet so this is going to be interesting :D

They're pretty cool! Those other adventure maps mentioned at the top of that link, The Legend of Zelda - Two Worlds and Echoes of the Lost World are awesome, even without the new wiring stuff... though some of the jumps requiring a frustrating amount of skill and timing.

I'd give them a try, as well.

You'll find geyser traps are generated near the underworld. However, if you play the Tales of the Terrarian map, there are some in that map you can scavenge after you complete the world, by going back in with a pick. >_>

(For as much time as I've logged in the game, I don't have much in the way of amazing architecture to show for it. I tend to build very functional boxes for my stuff. ^_^ I still have my first world and, though my main base is a tower that stretches all the way from the top to the bottom of the world -just a long box-, my original base is still there, and still very much a large Hobbit hole.)

I like Frostbyte Ridge and the light on the pumpkin one below best. I also found your Emergency Ocean drain very cool :D
Reminds me of a quote from Terry Pratchett.

Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.”

By the way is there a trick to making screenshots of more than 1 screen or do I just take several screenshots and put them together in Paint ?

Thanks!
To answer your question: Both.
I have edited screenshots in Paintshop Pro, but there is a fairly extensive screenshot utility built into Terraria now, too.
