If you make yourself 3 iTunes Accounts, buy the App three times (3 x 0.99 USD) you spend 3 USD.

With your two iDevices (iPod Touch 2nd Generation from when you were younger and iPhone 4 as your recent iDevice) you can generate yourself 6 legal Keys, 1 for yourself and 5 to give away. Its not too unrealistic since he got games worth 60 USD for only 3 USD ...
