Yea I should finish the LOTR books too, only got halfway through fellowship of the ring. I tried reading though The Silmarillion for a bit and couldn't understand shit lol.
Same, i tried it once and got lost within a few pages lmao but maybe now that I'm a bit (well, a lot) older I might 'get it'. As for LoTR, the first time I read it, it was in preparation for the movies coming out and something just kinda clicked for me, I ended up devouring all three in about a month. Looking back, though, they can be SUCH a slog if they don't click for you
I liked the LOTR book, I just put in hold for a better occasion but the Silmarillion was brutal, it doesn't help that english is my second language. I'll try to find a version translated in my own language perhaps it can help, it helped me with Frankenstein before.
