Yes, since they will send you all your keys by email.

But probably there will be no more support.

Nope. It wouldn't make any sense for a dying site to be giving you a deal at this point. They don't have anything to give.

I think it is a shame personally to see the site go, I bought almost all their bundles although admittedly only really during bundle blitz....I can see why many people would just skip buying the bundles here though without the blitz or just not wanting 2 copies.

I am waiting to see if there is a blitz on this bundle before they close down, but understand why they would not bother.

Try contacting the developer/publisher directly and explain the situation (include the revoked key in the message). They may give you a key out of goodwill, even though it's obvious they never got paid.

it happens with other games from other bundles and other developers as well. my copy of The Tower I won on SG just got revoked as well, GA creator bought it on gamebundle as well, but in other bundle and it's game from other devs. I expect a big wave for revokes gonna happen soon.

Convenient that they wait until Gamebundle is shut down to revoke the keys, so they know customers have no one to turn to... Not suspicious at all.

I think bundled ended same day as site shutdown and they can't know they won't pay until bundle has ended tho.

So yeah, not suspicious at all.

it's probably not these devs, oother keys from other devs get revoked as well - I just got The Tower revoked, apparently gamebundle didn't pay these devs as well, now there's domino effect, all unpaid devs revoking keys.

most ironic considering what a piece of shit that "game" is (and I rarely outright bash on games..)

you'd think they'd be in for the cards, even want to sell it lol

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well - it was quite some time since it was in bundle (I won it almost 1.5 month agom was bundled b4 that), so most ppl who got it already farmed cards, so there's no loss in this for them, most ppl would farm their cards in the 1.5 month period.

I'm ofc in no way defending devs - it's a scummy move and most important totally irrational, only people who are being punished are end customers - ppl who did nothing wrong and legally purchased a product from official third party source, the right thing to do would be for devs to legally pursue ppl who scammed them, not their clients, but it's easier to wash your hands and put all the effort of pursuing your loss on end customers instead.

I apologize for such inconvenience. The people we worked with at GameBundle decided to ignore us and our messages, and yet never sent us a payment. Therefore, we decided to ban all keys. The best I can do is to advise you to contact GameBundle for a refund.

We will not be doing any business with a fraudulent people, and we will advise you not to purchase any bundles through their website as well.

Nope, they won't be giving back any keys apparently...

EDIT: also

If you buy from a thirtd party, it's none of my problems when it comes to the game being revoked. Watch out who you buy it from.

Locked.

^THIS. He's talking about a bundle site like it was a grey market site, or the keys were stolen/leaked/whatever. It's not a third party, it's an official reseller from the moment they willingly gave them the keys to be sold there.

On the real world, they would sue Game Bundle. Imagine thousands of people bought a lawnmower at Home Depot, and it turns out Home Depot never paid the factory that makes them. I can't imagine that they would send a guy to each and every customer who bought one to get it back, they would go against Home Depot.

Funny thing is that this developer decided to screw a lot of people (can't say if they were hundreds or thousands, AFAIR there was no sold bundles counter on Game Bundle) instead of forgetting the whole issue and avoid the users' backslash. He's selling his flipping game on Steamgrounds right now for $0.06, for God's sake. If there were 1000 bundles sold (and I doubt it sold that many copies since it wasn't such a great bundle and it didn't have a Blitz), that's a loss of $60 (less since I guess STG takes a fee from purchases).

I would sympathize to some degree with any developer who got shafted like that but I agree that revoking the keys and screwing over customers is not the solution. The only thing it does is create a public relations mess. Frankly, as GameBundle is now gone there is no recourse. I think this a case where you just have to bite the bullet and move on, and perhaps a bit wiser about making deals with questionable bundle sites.

He also referred to them as "not real customers" which I think is pretty disgusting considering that he was the one who gave his keys to GameBundle in the first place.

On another note, keys for The Tower have also been revoked over GameBundle issues.

I might be wrong in this, but I thought Steam devs had the ability to cancel only unused keys from a batch, so they didn't have to cancel the entire batch. Surely if that's the case he would be entirely justified in cancelling any unused keys to prevent profiteering from any spares, but the whole thing of cancelling keys that were legitimately sold as part of the bundle... well that's just crazy to me for all the reasons already discussed

This is the answer I had received from gameBundle:

"The Developer has been paid (within the 10 business days as per the contract that he signed).

We'd usually facilitate the replacement of keys, but we've taken the site down at this point now.

Please work with bcinteractive directly to get a new key.

We'd like to apologize to our fans that you had to go through this.
"
Since I wasn't able to find an email address or alike for [bc]interactive, I joined the developer's Steam group and posted in this new game discussion: http://steamcommunity.com/app/535250/discussions/0/133259227532997191/

But after the developer's reaction on the first discussion I'm not expecting much.

Since the issue with bundlestars last August or sometime around that, I keep thinking when Steam will finally take action against that kind of behaviour from developers. Of course, it is legitimate, if keys were stolen, to revoke them. But if a developer gives keys to a site to sell them in a bundle or whatever - then it should be the developer judging if he thinks the site legit (before handing over the keys!) and not burden it on the customers who bought it there if they are not satisfied with whatever they get in return!
I don't think the answer of gamebundle legit either - they sold the bundles, and even if they take down the site, they would have to guarantee the keys to work and could be sued for not doing so - at least in my country. But I guess, they think nobody is going to take the trouble of sueing them. It's too hard to do it internationally.
It would be Steam who would be able to deal with this kind of behaviour. As they did with the devs who fabricated their own reviews, they could ban developers who revoked keys bought on legit sites. Then, most probably, developers would start thinking first and selling their keys to bundlesites only afterwards.
