Yeah I'd love to know as well. Asked them on Twitter but thus far haven't received a reply. :(

Yakuza 1 through 6, plus the prequel Zero, feature the same cast of characters and the same beat-em-up combat system, tho different stories that connect to one another. Like A Dragon (which just released last year) has a new turn-based combat system and a new cast, but a lot of the old faves show up and are intrinsic to the story. other than those, there's the spin-off Judgement (different cast, same combat i think), Ishin (same base cast but set back in feudal Japan, no idea about combat), Dead Souls (beat-em-up combat but more survival mechanics than a typical role-play story) and uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i think that's it. there's a mobile game? i have no idea how the mobile game works.

i can't speak for others but i'm excited cos i love the stories in the games i've played so far. it's like a Hong Kong Crime Drama but with some dude wearing a trash can on his head careening around in the background of every shot. it's both compelling and utterly hilarious.

Because it has an overarching story. Why wouldn't people who cared about the first games be excited for the rest?

You can start right now by getting Yakuza 0 which is a prequel, if you dig.

Imo, 0 is currently the best what I played from Yakuza. :)

my exact thoughts.. i have games 0,1 and 2, but haven't played them yet. i had no idea there were so many in the series.

MS Gamepass... Might be option if you find a good deal...
