Is this the charity bundle they should have done in December?

View Results
[Buy for the games] A good buy for any gameHunter.
[Buy for charity] I might not want or like these, but cancer awareness is worth my money.
[Have] Even before my latest Great Adventure, I already collected most of these on my Homeworld.
[Skip] If I bought every bundle out there, I'd be stuck here searching for online Payday loans. I'm sure not going for this one won't leave me with any Little Nightmares to regret.
[Lineup complaint] I know it's for a good cause, but did they need to add ancient titles and games given away for Steam/Epic?
[Sliders complaint] It's not a proper charity bundle if IGN get a forced percentage of it.

Peppy's Adventure keys are out of stock since June. No news yet from HB support.

I still didn't get WWZ and PEPPY.
I barely got a reply until 3 weeks after I contacted the support team.
They tell me to wait as the keys are temporarily out.
It's now August and I still haven't received my key.
I don't know what to do. Humble doesn't help me.

Confirmed. Peppy's Adventure is not listed at all anymore in my view of what I purchased.
Searching for "pep" in Keys & Entitlements yields "Nothing found."

Latest update i've got

April 04, 2023 02:01
Hello there,

My name is [ censored ], and I will be handling this ticket from here. Unfortunately, it does not look like we will be receiving more keys for this title. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you wish, we can refund your order using Humble Wallet Credit. Just let us know how you would like to proceed.

Best wishes,

So if this one of those developers once again?

0.01% ownership of HB? XD
No, not really. I have no idea and i just will ask what they offer.
It's quite sad, but unfortunately I've found myself in the same situation surprisingly often during the last year.
That HB bundles have temporarily run out of keys.
I'm unemployed and in financial trouble, but that's why I sometimes have to buy those bundles right before the sale period ends.
But because I love playing, I have to just get used to it.
And now don't get me wrong, so far I've got all the keys I've wanted and needed.
This is the first one where this has not happened, but HB now offering something called "replacement" and I'm already very satisfied with it.
I've been thinking about how much HB's customer service is unnecessarily burdened when the developers don't take care of things properly and correctly.
I hope with all my heart that HB would not get into the same situations terribly often.
Sorry if there is typos or hard to understand.

You can tell them it is still on store for steam keys; Some month ago, I buy a game (ROOMS: The Toymaker's Mansion) in drm free + steam key, but I don't received any keys. I send a ticket and they tel me the game have no steam key, because the devs still don't send these. So I ask and have a refund. I tell them it can be a good thing to remove the steam key mention for this game to avoid further problems, and they did it.

I've noticed same thing indeed, but i have no idea what kind of agreements or deals they have between HB and publisher/developer.
Since HB didn't suggest a replacement key, there must be a good reason why they did not do so, and I'm not going to question that at all.
I'm going to be humble myself and ask from HB what they propose and with a high probability I'll be satisfied with that solution, because HB has always been fair (at least to me).

Yeah, there were similar cases with out of stock keys in the bundle and still available in the store. Unfortunately their response was that "these are different agreements and therefore they can't move them from store pool to the bundle one". Probably true, because this would solve the problems and I don't believe they are so greedy to specially block such transfers while risking all the negative PR and surge of angry consumers

I submitted a ticket with Humble about the missing keys for 3 of this bundle.

They said they can not use the keys from the store. Basically do to agreements and such.

So I suggested that they credit me the cost to purchase the 3 copies of the game and I would just buy them. No brake in any sales agreement with the developers and I get what I was promised. So they gave me a $5 credit in total for all 3 games.

I explained to them that I can't even buy one copy of the game I was promised. Let alone 3 copies. They need to make it right. Especailly since they promised this game in the bundle then later with out warning or notice, removed it instead of replacing the keys.

Now I am up to $10. The total cost of 3 copies is 20.97, which they said they will not credit me. So, gave them one more chance to make it right. To see if I can get closer to that value.

I usually don't buy multiple copies of a bundle. This one just had some great games for a good cause. Some games I wanted to give to friends. WWZ Aftermath specifically. So, even if I stopped buying from them. They are not loosing a huge amount. Still, I believe everyone who purchase the bundle and did not get a key for "Peppy's Adventure". Should request compensation.

Try to stay calm. Don't be threatening. Just let them know your not happy and feel cheated by Humble. They must be held accountable for their actions. Don't be afraid to speak up. Get your $5 or $10 in credit.

Good Luck everyone!

have you tried contacting the developer? all they have to do is request x keys on steam and send them over to humble. or humble to contact the dev and ask for the same. looks like neither party is particularly fucked about doing anything.

Humble does that. When they run out of keys for a certain bundle. They have to contact the developer to get more keys for the bundle. That is why it a rare occurrence (a least for me) that they never get replacement keys for a bundle. I know for a fact I won't be able to get the personal conversations about this issue between Humble and the developers. What most likely happened is Humble underestimated the sales for this specific bundle and the developer did not want to give keys beyond the max quoted number. Which would be understandable as they were probably giving the keys in support of the charity or getting a fraction of the value for each key.

This bundle was different then most as it was a 100% of the proceeds go to the organization type thing. Like other emergency support bundles for disasters and such. It's not like the regular bundles were you can adjust how much goes to the charity vs how much humble gets. So, that is also why they probably could not get more keys. It's not like some triple a title that can just throw keys around.

Nope, I think Humble really should have to take full responsibility for this and the we should not bug the developers about it. Humble also took action to hide this from customers by removing the game from the list without warning. As they expect few people would be watching or even complaining about it. Which is less compensation they have to dish out. If your not paying attention to your purchases and forget about the game you are waiting for (even if you don't really want it). Then that is your problem, is how they probably look at it.

I can't say what the real reasons behind this is. I can only speculate and express my feelings about this Humble, in hopes they do the right thing. Will see!

I hope everyone follows suit. I am sure the resellers who purchased gobs and gobs of them probably won't. As it definitely does not look like Humble is taking into account each bundle you purchased and treating them all as a whole. I was just going to give 2 copies away and keep one as it look like a fun little waste of time.

Humble does that.

they're clearly not doing it now, hence the suggestion to try the dev, at least to clear up what happend if not provide more keys. transparency in situations like this is important, from both parties. humble most of all, it's on them to make the bundle happen smoothly or do something if there's dev fuckery (which is often the same 'let's do something shady and hope nobody will notice, then ban whoever does' thing).

I'm sure steam support, who never give a fuck about anything, wouldn't mind making an exception to provide more keys in this particular charitable case. then again, they might not give a fuck about this either, not just the amount of free keys floating around for everything. could still be worth a try if the dev could be bothered.

Ok, so if you go to the steam forum for the game. The devs pinned a thing about the bundle. Starts out all, "Yah! We are helping." Then turns into, "Oh now, ran out of keys. We are working Steam and Humble." Eventually, turns out that Humble really underestimated how many bundles would sell. The dev team already gave them all the keys that they could and Steam is pretty much saying, no more for that bundle.

The Dev team was able to free up another 1000 keys or so, but still no were near enough. They were very apologetic about it and wish there was more they could do. Steam has their own rules and such. I am not about to go to steam about this.

In the end. Humble was unable to get more keys for this bundle. Instead of owning up to this problem. They tried to hide it by removing it from the bundles that had not gotten keys.

Myself, I would have been totally fine if Humble had take responsibility for this oversight and at least apologized. You know, "Hey we messed up. We can't get anymore keys for this game for the bundle. Sorry about that. Here is what we can do for you." I know they could send an email about it or include a link explaining the situation in the actual bundle. They opted to not do this. So now I make a ticket pointing out their fault and sharing this with everyone who is willing to listen. After that, I wipe my hands of this. I did more then I needed to since in the end, it's the sellers fault.

I can't go to Doritos for compensation if I buy a bag of Doritos from Target and Target takes my money but gives me no Doritos.

Anyway! I did what I came here to do. I am walking away to have fun and wait for more replies. Happy Gaming!

well, a niche puzzler like that was a weird addition to a bundle that would definitely sell a billion copies because it's for charity. guess the devs got their free publicity, steam is useless, as always, the end. except humble was shady about it, even if this isn't the first time something like this happened. they could've also limited the bundle to the number of lowest available keys but that'd mean less money (in this case for a better cause than their own pocket).
