Hello everyone .

Its June, which is what many of you already know to be Pride Month. The title of the thread should have clued you in , that is if you know how to read.

🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
For the uninformed and those who wish to learn more
🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

June marks the beginning of a series of events that take place over the month ranging from MASSIVE PARADES to small informational kiosks. with people all around the world uniting in standing up for the LGBT+ community , no matter their nationality ,race ,age , or even sexuality. Well , due to Covid19 there has been some changes. Most events have been moved online , delayed , or out right cancelled.

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ
Upcoming confirmed events.
πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

i would like to think of this as a chance to be honest. some of you might be too scared of physically going to an event or you just dont have the means to do so. So checking out online events should be much easier and maybe even preferable to you.

It's a lot insensitve to judge people's pride when they go through hardships on a different level but are still equally hated by people outside of their circle.

Isn't asking if someone is trolling also possibly a form of trolling? I just got the idea we agreed that it is insensitive trying to silence a group, specially if we consider what is currently going on.

Yes, possibly, but seen as it only possibly is, is there a way to discern it for definite? Also, you agreed, which is funny because you were saying it's insensitive to celebrate pride month during this time where things are going on elsewhere, therefore silencing a group to bring to light another group. Hypocrisy.
There is no reason why both can't share the spotlight as both are major concerns for not just America but the entire world.

I, as a person, who was beaten to a near death state due to my homosexuality am in a position to say that I believe sharing the spotlight is crucial to advancement.

For the same reason you see threads like "Happy Holidays" and "Today is my wedding day." Turns out we have billions of people on this planet, and they all work towards many different goals.

Want to know the trippiest part about that, they all work to those goals at the same time, even the same person can work towards multiple goals at the same time. Shocking.

I have to admit that made me laugh.

But doesn't the word faggots refer to annoying Harley drivers now? I thought the Cambridge dictionary changed it.

Anyway last comment I'll post in this thread. I said what I had to say.

Considering what's going on, I think it's right on point actually.
The LGBT community is also targeted by violence, all over the world, including the US, and a significant amount of homeless teens are trans, or gay and with the pandemic still going on, they have it as hard as anyone so no, it's not insensitive.

I realize your post here is from a week ago, but since it is still current events. I just want to mention that trans folks in the states just got their health protections stripped. So... not insensitive. LGBT+ are affected at disproportionate rates by this pandemic. And for intersectionality, black folks who are LGBT get affected at a worse rate than those of us LGBT+ folks who are white. I sincerely wonder how tone-deaf you have to be to think your comment somehow.... contributed anything.

Isnt that only so that they can now refuse transition-related care? They are still protected by other statues against discrimination so seems wierd anyone couldnt legally receive "normal" health care like your example about covid-19.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm Canadian, so I don't know the details. What I do know is that it's BS either way because either are factors on our quality of life. Denying trans folks trans-related treatment can factor into our mental health and gradually kill us. Denying trans folks care period... well, you know.

People who go into healthcare (generally) do it for two reasons:
to help people
money

If a health care worker can't do the former indiscriminately, perhaps they ought to find another career because ignoring an entire group of people goes against what it means to be a doctor.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I cant say I extactly know what "transition-related care" entails either and if its post or pre care or perhaps both. From what I have heard the suicide risk doesnt really decrease after transition so its not a magical solution for all.

Like you said. Some people are money driven so they will use situation like this to do what maybe is not best for the patient. Correct me if Im wrong, isnt a post surgery trans person a "cash cow" for life?

In general when we talk about health care that is covered by insurance, doctors most likely do many tests/procedures that is not necessary in order to make more money.

The timing seems less than ideal given we're currently in a pandemic and should all avoid large gatherings but I suppose it's not so easy to reschedule an event that has been held at a certain date for decades and also largely depends on good weather.

Anyway I'll just leave this here:

Was thinking that you dont have to be part of a group just because you are gay being salty or was I blacklisted before for some other reason?

Pretty normal in SG to just receive a silent BL as that is going to help somehow instead of expressing your opinion, so I wondered what if any was so wrong about that?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Full transparency - You were blacklisted a while back, removed quite a while back and re-added today.

You seem to be under the misplaced assumption that I think me BLing someone will help any cause, I simply don't want you entering my giveaways, which is why I did it. I don't feel the need to involve myself in every comment thread, as I feel that others are perfectly able to argue their own case the vast majority of the time.

The main problem I had was that you were deliberately misinterpreting others remarks, not that you have views on people who are gay who don't associate themselves with the 'group' - People are of course free to associate and disassociate with a 'group'. Though in many cases those who are outside it and critique are people who are held up by those who actually complete oppose the rights and fair treatment of gay people as a shield to deflect from criticism. Which is why I find it suspect when certain people bring it up.

When someone feels the need to BL someone for writing something that I dont feel was bad at all, then Im always curious what the reason is and their take on it.

In this case you accused me of "deliberately misinterpreting others remarks" which couldnt be further from the truth. I just thought it was a really bad comparison as I mentioned in my second reply

Concidering the few BLs I got after commenting, it kind of proves my point that its all peace, love and tolerance except if you dont show your support 100%. Doesnt event matter if you are in the middle you must agree with everything.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to explain.

I'm not even sure what sort of events are going on in Chicago yet (due to COVID 19), or if I'll get any time away from work to attend, but I hope to at least be able to get downtown to celebrate with a few old college buddies.

Happy Pride Month, folks! :D

Normally Pride is a celebration, but it's hard for me to feel the celebratory spirit right now when so many people are suffering. Nevertheless, every year during this month I make it a point to reflect on the people who came before me whose sacrifices paved the way for me to be able to live my life openly and with dignity; I think about the people who have stood alongside me as I have protested and spoken out for our rights; I also reflect on the ones younger than me, who are taking up our cause and ensuring that our voices will continue to be heard.

To all the LGBTQ people here, whether you're confidently out, having to hide who you are, or still figuring out just who you are in the first place, know that I support you wholeheartedly. There's been a lot of focus recently on all the different identities, and I see a lot of people trying to fracture or partition our beautiful kaleidoscope of humanity. Let me assure you this: no matter which colors you wear from our rainbow, you are still a part of it.

Straight cis allies, hop on board too! You can stand under my umbrella! I will never turn away honest support, and too often I feel the anger in our community gets directed at people who had as equally little say in their identities as us. Being cis and straight does not make you bad, and if you choose to support us, then welcome! Pride is yours too, and you can stand tall in solidarity alongside us. The people who have shown me the most kindness and support in my lowest moments have all been straight -- kindness is not limited to any one identity but instead flows between them. It is on all of us to keep that current moving.

Justice must always be alert to injustice, so as we affirm and celebrate ourselves, I encourage us to keep our eyes and hearts tuned to those facing discrimination and oppression. The world has been focused on the United States right now, and deservedly so, as the ugly heart of racism continues to beat, pumping its blood through the very arteries and veins of my country in order to spill the blood of others. This has gone on too long and it is too unjust, costly, and damaging for us to ignore. If this Pride month can't be a celebration, it can instead be a fight for justice. Learn about racism in America, yes, but elsewhere too, and support people in their fight. Racism is an illness that continues to plague humanity, and we must work together towards a cure.

COVID-19 too, is an enemy of humanity. The people who are out there fighting it and keeping things going in this difficult time are tired, beleaguered, and risking their lives for the sake of others. They are heroes, yes, but lionizing them without addressing the forces that created this situation for them is a misdirection. Justice for them is reform. There is no reason they shouldn't have been prepared. There is no reason they shouldn't have the supplies they need. There is no reason any of them should be making minimum wage. These wrongs cannot be addressed individually but must be tackled systemically. Lives, jobs, and livelihoods have been lost because of a failure to prepare. We cannot change what has passed, but we can lay the groundwork for moving forward. We can ensure that next time this happens, it won't be the destructive force our inaction allowed it to be.

There are more injustices out there, some local, some global, that we must also examine. It can be exhausting to consider tackling them individually, but that is not the way forward. Instead, we all do our part and know that we are part of something bigger. Being part of the LGBT community has always been about celebrating individual identity in the context of larger community, so when you feel tired, defeated, or downtrodden, remember that you are not alone. Furthermore, just as others' support lifts you up, so you can be the support that helps others.

To those that feel alone right now, please know that you are not. I lived with depression for a decade -- I know the lies that it tells my brain, and two of the biggest ones is that you are alone and you are nothing. I cannot express to you how not true this is. A mosaic isn't beautiful because of any one tile; it's beautiful because of how they come together to create a picture bigger than themselves. Connection is powerful and transformative, but depression will cut you off from it and tell you that it's meaningless, that one tile can never be part of a beautiful image. It is a lie. Know this: it is nothing but a lie. It will feel more true than anything else to you, but it is still a lie. Depression wanted to rob me of my life and take from me my own consciousness. It is another enemy of humanity. We are not meaningless; we are not nothing; we are not alone. Know this. Please know this.

I know this is a Steam gifts website. I fully realize the implicit comedy of posting something so heavy on a site that's focused on more trivial things. I get it. It's easy to say that this is not the place for it, but here is where I am and here is where there are other people who I have no doubt are struggling with who they are or how things are right now. Just as I will always welcome the support of others, I hope mine too is welcomed here. Know that I am your champion, that I want the best for you, and that whenever things feel the darkest is when there is the greatest need for hope and potential for change. Let those of us who can shine bright in who we are so that we can light the way for others.

Much love, much Pride, and please remember that you matter.

Sincerely,
An Old Gay Guy :)

Yes, people who think for themselves and dont agree with everything from a certain movement is exactly the same as a woman that have no thought for herself.

It was an entirely honest response to a question that I doubt was asked in good faith. Previous activism is the sole reason we are now legally allowed to love who we like and be who we are in some countries, with a lower (but certainly not negligible) risk of being killed for it.

So seeing people within the community "strongly" reject that, while benefiting from the rights that were won through enormous sacrifice and hard work, when there are still so many, many places where those rights don't exist at all, makes me feel sad and exasperated and exhausted. But mostly it makes me feel pity.

I have no idea what the intention of the question was, but for me I thought it was a really bad comparison.

Concidering we live in a cancel culture where comedians loose their jobs for a simple joke that they made years ago. I can only imagine that they would also try to destroy the lives of other people with the same sexual preference as the LGBT community, solely on the fact that they dont repeat the same script that has been fed to them.

Peace and love except if you think diffrent then what we tell you.

LGBTQ activism isn't synonymous with cancel culture, nor is cancel culture specific to the LGBTQ community. There are far, far larger concerns.

Activism includes things like trying to ban conversion therapy, which is still legal in Canada, the US, Australia, and nearly every other country in the world. It means trying to change laws like the one in the country I'm living in that forbids LGBTQ characters from being portrayed on TV, under the same law that forbids depictions of incest and sexual perversion. It means trying to advocate for the LGBTQ youth who get kicked out by their families and have a 120% higher risk of homelessness. Or spreading awareness that that two-thirds of LGBTQ people in the UK have been too scared to hold their partner's hand, and 2/5 of them have experienced harassment or violence. Or that about one in two trans women has been sexually assaulted.

I'm not interested in destroying anyone's life for being ignorant, but I'm not going to pretend this hypothetical LGBTQ person sounds anything but ignorant if they're against a movement advocating for their own global rights when those rights barely exist. Though if anyone who's actually part of the community wants to debate me, I'm willing to listen.

The problem is that the things you mentioned isnt really anything you hear about during pride? Or do I pay to little attention? The main things I see during pride parades on youtube is mostly half naked men with the ass cut out in front of a child or a women chaking her painted tits.

Not serious things that matters that people should know about.

I was at this Pride march in 2018 near my hometown and lots of people looked like this. But they never make it to youtube or are show in the media. In my opinion that leads to misconceptions.
But Pride marches should and do show the whole spectrum, plus those who don't want to see something aren't required to attend a pride march or any other Christoper Street Day event.

Comment has been collapsed.

This was more about the theoretical LGBTQ person from the question who's "strongly anti-LGBT movement." If you're involved in the community or its activism this stuff comes up all the time.

Pride is more debatable, and is actually debated within the community, mainly because many feel it's become too commercialized. But I've never actually met anyone, of my generation at least, who straight up disapproved of Pride, even if they wanted to change certain aspects. They know it's a celebration of Stonewall and the rights we gained. Even if you think the event is tacky or misleading, complaining about it when you're LGBTQ is like getting mad about an event celebrating the suffragettes. It's not that you can't criticize it, but it's rare for someone to be "strongly" against it if they know their own history.

(On a completely personal level, not speaking for anyone else: nudity has never bothered me in the least. So if a guy's wearing sparkly briefs and nothing else, or a woman's got painted boobs, good for them. Plenty of cultures are less repressed about nudity and sex, up to and including families going to public bathhouses together. Doesn't seem to harm them. Though of course you can also just choose not to bring the kids along.)

The person isn't hypothetical. Advocating for rights is one thing, but there's also various kind of materials being provided at LGBT community events that many gay people consider unnecessary. For example, at an LGBT event in my country everyone received "How to address an LGBT person in order to not offend them" booklets. That not hypothetical person believes this kinda contradicts the cause. He wants to be addressed like everyone else, not in any "special" way. He wants to be treated as a human, not as a gay and feels things like these don't really promote equality but the opposite. Does that makes him ignorant?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No. That sounds like he questioned whether a specific gesture was helpful to the cause. That doesn't strike me as an example of someone "strongly against the LGBTQ movement."

Now, I know your situation isn't completely hypothetical, because Milo Yiannopoulos exists. I do think he's ignorant and taking his own rights for granted.

Edit: Also! If the man at the event was you, cool, I'm happy to talk more about why I think activism for our community is so important, even in smaller forms. If it's not you, or you aren't comfortable coming out, that's fine, but I'm not really interested in having this discussion by proxy.

This reminded me of something I read in the news recently - there was an inter-racial couple living in Virginia who got married in DC in secret in 1958 because at the time it was illegal for whites and "colored people" to marry in Virginia. Somehow they were found out, police raided their home, they were arrested, and banished for 25 years from the state of Virginia where they were born and raised and lived all their lives.

Years later, frustrated that they could not visit their relatives in Virginia, they filed a law suit with the help of the ACLU that ended up going to the Supreme Court and was successful in overturning the Virginia law and made interracial marriage legal in the US in 1967 (though Alabama continued enforcing their anti-miscegenation laws until 1970, and didn't remove those laws until 2000.

Right now, it seems crazy that only 55 years ago it was illegal for a white person and a non-white person to marry each other. Hopefully 50 years from now, people will look back and think that it was crazy that prior to 2015 it was illegal for same-sex couples to marry.

The real answer would be like "gender equality" people see a woman like me who don't like all those Women's quotas, Women should be preferred to men etc., "nonsense" ;)

Basically people who ask for tolerance are unfortunately quite intolerant often if you don't agree with them and damage the reputation of the whole group. :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Women being preferred to men isn't gender equality, I agree. It's certainly not how I've ever used the term.

RE: tolerance, I'm lazy and going to repost an old comment.

It's worth reading up on Karl Popper's paradox of tolerance. The TL;DR is that if people are promoting an intolerant society (e.g. a society where races are segregated), it doesn't make sense to try to "tolerate" their viewpoint because it'll just lead to them destroying any semblance of tolerance when they gain political power. So to protect a broadly just and safe society, sometimes you have to put your foot down.

This is important for e.g. refusing to harbor people who promote harmful conspiracy theories or violence against [insert segment of humanity.] It's more of a grey area when it's just someone saying intolerant things, because that can be allowed within reason. But I generally agree with where Popper draws the line, i.e. at the people who aren't even willing to rationally argue for their intolerant viewpoint and anyone who tries to escalate intolerance to the point of violence.

It keeps sterotypes, creates homophobes and makes some gays refuse to come out since "i am not like that".

But whenever i express that (with that same reasoning) I am always called homophobe myself so, eh...

I agree with you. Pride seems to spark so much hate among some people (in my country at least) , so I am not sure it's a useful event when it comes to promoting equality or raising awareness. The issue is, I don't know what would be another way to "showcase that they are just average people". I could be wrong, maybe Pride is good as it as, but judging by the comments under news posts that doesn't seem to be the case.

You can find fragmentation and disagreement in any and every community, but that doesn't invalidate the movement and goals of that community. Since when do you need unanimous, 100% agreement for something to be valid?

I often see this kind of thing used to try to invalidate a movement. Right now in the US, conservatives will find a black person who doesn't support Black Lives Matter or doesn't support the George Floyd protests and they'll all hold them up like a beacon of light as if to say, "Aha! We did it! We found a black person that agrees with us, therefore we are vindicated! Your movement has no power, no legitimacy anymore, for we have found a black person that disagrees with it, and that proves that we were right all along!"

Before that they did the same thing with climate change, finding the 1 scientist in 100 that disagreed on climate change and holding them up as "proof" that climate change doesn't exist, as if that one scientist's opinion invalidated the other 99.

Slay the Spire is a fantastic game, but apparently 3% of Steam reviews wouldn't recommend it. I think those people are mistaken, foolish, or flat out wrong, but they're there. And if we can't get 100% of people to agree that Slay the Spire is a game worth recommending, how can we expect to get 100% of people to agree on anything?

I dont really understand this pride thing. There are totally normal gay people, and bitch gay people. Those type are annoying as hell. Not because they are homosexual, but because of their behaviour. And in a pride you see a lots of this type, so i understand why people get offended. And why dont you do this pride in a place outside of a city. Like a festival. Blocking a lots of streets in the middle of a town is annoying too. I'm not against homosexuals, tbh I don't care with whom have other people sex, but I just dont understand these Pride things. I mean, if the message is acceptance, your target audience is those, who are offended by your sexuality, and Pride is not the good way to send them this message. Im not one of them, but prides with these kind of 'bitch gays' (I hope you know what I mean) annoys me a lot sometimes.

Sigh or not, i dont care if someone if homosexual or not. But i care about these processions.(but meant the same thing in my original text) Pride won't solve the problem of discrimination, but can create more hate. Do a festival somerwhere else, only people who are not haters, bigoted ect, ect will join, the town's life won't be disturbed and so on. I mean metalheads do the same, make a festival in the suburb, and noone has to listen to their music.

Sigh again.

Gay pride or LGBT pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as a social group. Pride, as opposed to shame and social stigma, is the predominant outlook that bolsters most LGBT rights movements.

So now tell us how these ambitions should be achievable by hiding their events somewhere in the nowhere, without anyone taking notice of it.
Metalheads aren't stigmatized, they never had to fight for their right to exist.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well a festival a lot of thing, but not hiding in the middle of nowhere. And they are noticeable. But looks like i dont understand the core of the problem. Like, I know there are homosexuals, without any Pride. And a lots of non offended people don't want to notice any kind of pageantry. The stigmatas won't disappear due to Pride. You can enjoy yourselves in a festival without bothering anyone else. So, what I want to say, I understand the purpose of Pride, but to me, it looks like the way you try to achive it, is not a good one.

I think the word "pride" is just misplaced, especially as a German like me you don't have any good connection to this word.

For me homosexuality/heterosexuality is something you are born with, just like your skin color or your place of birth. Pride is something which should only be connected to things you achieve by working for them like a doctor title

ok so i understand where you're coming from. of course people blocking the road for any reason is annoying, and yeah there are gay people who are just plain annoying, same as any other person of any sexuality, race, nationality or religion can be, but you have to understand that the lgbtq community has been oppressed and killed for who they are. i think if they were already totally accepted then there wouldn't be much need for a pride month, they would just be "normal" people. unfortunately, that's just not how it is. until every lgbtq person can openly come out without fear of hate or prejudice, there needs to be a way of showing pride and support. if that means a minor inconvenience for us non-lgbtq people.. well, just deal with it. it's still a whole lot easier than what they've had to deal with.

So sorry that people trying to celebrate who they are, and showing the rest of the world that they're just people and not some demon to be demonized, interferes with your commute and/or recreational trip. That must be very frustrating.

But it's not trying to send a message so much as it's a "promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as a social group." And when you're constantly discriminated against, threatened, abused, killed, even told what bathroom you may and may not use, it can be a powerfully uplifting thing to have people come together and celebrate you just being who you are.

A regulal nonbigot human being tries to go home, bump into pride, see a few black leather costumed police officers and other gonzo people, i dont think he will think: im glad i see this, im happy they celebrate who they are. Well not to me, not at all in fact, but since it's important enough for you to express it on a thread that's for people to celebrate who they are and that they're not afraid to do so anymore. So I thought I'd ask why it was so important for you to care, since you're not homophobic and all.

Although in my experience the only people put off my the sight of other people having fun and celebrating being alive and free are the ones who never liked them in the first place.
You're talking as if people who are actually not homophobes could be turned against love by seeing guys in leather kissing so I was just wondering why. In case it's actually true.

Comment has been collapsed.

Well this comment is demagog and you twisted what i was saying. I have gay and lesbian friends, I don't feel anything bad when i see them kissing, holding each other's hand. What i was saying is that I think the purpose of Pride is not achievable the way Pride works. And theres a difference between someone's sexuality and behaviour. Drag queens are not pain in the ass because of their sexuality but because of their behaviour. If a gay guy speaks like a girl, have overacted gestures, it's bothers me. But I guess it's a personal taste. It bothers me even they are straight, because the behaviour is my problem you see.
But ok, let's see why I think Pride is not good this way. First thing first, you mention the celebration. When i said do it in a festival, I become a bad guy. Because they want to show the world their love, themselves, ect. Does the world care? I mean everybody on this Planet knows there are homosexuals. No need to show it. Some bigotts make their lifes hard, I know, and it's sad. But there are thrash people and they attack all the time. In this case because of the sexuality, in other case because of ethnicity, and so on. This won't change. But let's assume I am a gay guy, I have a strong relationship and we want to get married and adopt children. So we go to the Pride. We look ordinary people, nothing extravagant in our toilet. And there are next to us drag queens, and those other people I don't know how to call. You know, the ones in costumes, highlighted genitals, and so on. And just for the argument's sake, thera are people in this Pride who have the right to decide whose can adopt children and whose not. What do you think, what will be their opinion? Seeing heavy makeup wearing men in black leather clothes? "Yeah, they are totally have to adopt a child!' I don't think so. And because of them, I got a stigma too. To achive this type of goal of Pride is hard if not impossible this way. If you just want to have fun and celebrate I still recommend a Festival. People who are not interested are not forced to bump into it, those who are interested will go for sure. Ofc I don't know what shold be the best method to treat homosexuals equal in the question of marriage and adoption. I think Neil Partick Harris (Barney form How I met your mother) is in a long, prosperous relationship whit his partner (maybe they are married I dont know) and have children. They are totally normal people, if they are bothering anyone, the problem is not with this couple.
So that's my looks like unpopular opinion. If you still think of me a homophobic, well, I can live with that.

So you have no problem with gay people as long as they conform to your idea of what's ok and they don't "look" or act gay;

And just for the argument's sake, thera are people in this Pride who have the right to decide whose can adopt children and whose not.

I'm sorry but this is where you lose me. There is no such thing, even for argument's sake. Nobody is empowered with judging other people for what they act like or dress like, even less in how that makes them good parents or not.

What does "normal" even mean? And how do you know they don't dress in drag to go to clubs and bars? Because you've seen them on red carpets in tuxedos? If they actually wear makeup sometimes, that would make them less likely to be good parents?
Here's a problem for you: I've known plenty straight people who drink to excess and act like total fools, in bars, in clubs, in public places where any good citizen can see them. I haven't polled straight people but I bet they don't feel threatened by morons.

It's like you saying "football games should happen behind closed doors because with all those straight guys painting their faces, chanting songs and being drunk off their asses... let's say for argument's sake that there is someone there who can say if they should be having kids or not, well that's game over for them and all straight people should feel like I do because those football supporters are ruining their chances of being parents"

At first i wrote another long comment, but reading yours over and over again i realized it's pointless. You don't understand or don't want to understand what i say that's why you twisted my lines and uses wrong metaphors. But again: if you want to celebrate your love it's your joy, do it in a festival dont furce it to others. If you want equal rights (marriage, having kids), pride is not a good forum discuss this topic.

Have a bump :)

Hopefully such celebration isn't needed any time in the future and future generations look back at intolerant people of any kind like we do at people burning others as "witches"

To quote a song from a German band (translated into English):

And in 2060 my grandson asked me
"Grandpa, tell me, what is a racist?
And what is actually a homophobic?
And what a climate catastrophe? "
And I answer this: "Little one, I'm glad you don't know
Because that's all shit of the past ”

I fear by 2060 we won't have mitigated the climate catastrophe, but will have to live through it. Or at least your children / grandchildren will have to, I'll probably be dead by then.

As I guess that about 90% of the adult population on earth is xenophobic and/or homophobic I fear that the prevention of the climate catastrophe would be the easiest goal of those three 😞

hey . sorry it took me so long to get back to this but i've been out of it past 2 days.

got a painful lump behind my right earlobe and it hurts everytime i put any amount of pressure on it. dosent help that i can only sleep on my right side . so it ends waking me up 3-4 times a day. luckily it decided to stop depriving me of sleep last night.

other than that i've basically been staying home , social distancing , and just overall doing nothing.

how about u?

It's all good, that "what is up" was a general statement, it didn't require your immediate attention. :D

I've been staying home, working (I work from home anyway) and playing a lot of games (PC, console, and board games). I have no major complaints, I'm lucky not to be affected as much as some others by Covid-19.

I agree with JustDucky, that sounds like a cyst -- I hope you can get it taken care of!
