Mostly VR, easy skip!

Some titles look interesting, but I don't own a VR set!

Same here, I'd be all over these VR indie bundles if I had a headset.

What is keeping you? Buy a Quest, put ALVR on it and you can play all your Steam games. It even plays Viveport. Getting into VR in seconds without wires is so amazing. Just put it on your head and you are ready to go.

Money, I just got a 250 euro gaming chair, a 2080 TI (nice tax refund), Motorola G7 and Nintendo Switch, i need to save up a bit.

And yeah partially i also got that pc (With Coffee Lake i8700K) to show off for future VR. :p But yeah apart from your option i don't think there are many wireless alternatives yet.

I never even tried a demo of VR in a store or whatever, i am wearing glasses, so dunno if it goes well (or the motion sickness), think i would play alot of VR stuff though once i got something, seems cool although many games themselves seem to be more demo's/short rather then full games.

Wow someone has been very nice to him/herself. That is some serious equipment. I live in the Netherlands so no demo's either but I just had to try vr. So last black Friday I bought one. I found myself liking the more active ones best. Which is good as every minute I don't sit on my lazy butt is a win lol. My favorite game requires you to turn 360 degrees which is tricky on a wire. And then the Quest came along €450,- no wires ready to go. As psvr got me motion sick within minutes the lower refresh rate worried me. That combined with me being spoiled with pc vr graphics. I was sooo wrong. This thing is amazing and exceeds all my expectations on clarity and performance. Also very comfortable with glasses, way better than the other one. Only have it for two weeks but already using it way more because it's easy to use, put it on and play thing. I think you live in the Netherlands as well if I'm not mistaken. Order it, fall in love with it or don't and send it back. You can within a month due to the only nice European law :).

Or be smart and wait a few more months for the Cosmos. Wireless, pc tethered high quality made to work with Steam.

I live there yeah.

Well it's been years since i could treat myself like that (i went from doing with a Geforce 430 GT to a 2080 TI), so yeah i think i deserved it a bit. :p

Dunno where you saw a Quest for 450? Can only find it on coolblue for 550, but the reviews do say it got lower refresh rate, i think the vive might also be more compatible with games, so maybe better to wait on the cosmos, but the price seems unknown and do you need all those extra's like a base station still?
And will it just be as powerful (or better) as a vive (pro)? Being able to hook it up to a smartphone, doesn't sound promising like that.
Seems to be end 2019 or even 2020 though that it will be coming.
But with 7900 non vr games there is no real rush or anything.

Oh one important factor too is atm i got everything in a (small) bedroom, so i couldn't even move that far without me bumping into things especially if it would get wireless. :p Though such things can always change from one day to the other (i keep hoping).

That's the 128gb model the 64gb model is 450 at Coolblue. No real need for the bigger model as the games are way smaller on the Quest. You can put appr 45 on the 64gb, unless you are planning on downloading thousands of custum Beat saber songs ofc. I returned the big one once I found out about that and spent the money on accessories.

Cosmos are all rumors but the rumors are very promising. Inside out tracking is confirmed so no fiddling around with base stations. If the rumors are true is will be a wireless headset powered by your pc if you are within a 100 feet of your pc with pc quality graphics. When you are further away it will be a portable device just like the Quest with also lowered graphics. It will be definitely better than the Vive pro as that is not so good at all, quite bad actually. It will be way more expensive for sure and sofar I am blown away by the quality of the Quest. I read the reviews too and I think they were written by people that did not try it. I get motion sick very fast but the 72Hz doesn't make any difference at all. You can not even see or feel the difference with 90hz. If you have a very small bedroom I think you NEED a Quest as that you can take to any nearby parking garage having a huge play area :). Think about it!

Ofc there will be better headsets in the future and within a few years I think they will all be wireless but I can't wait forever I want to enjoy it now. And it being all in one is so convenient. I was expecting to use my old pc headset for the more quite experiences and simple Quest for the active ones. But I didn't use my old headset once in the last few weeks. That makes me wonder if I will ever buy the Cosmos as that would mean starting up a pc etc. This putting up a baseball cap and go. Did not expect that to make such a difference but it does.

Yeah my dad was also like that with graphic cards when i got my 2080 TI, that there will always be better ones, and who knows we might have holodeck quality VR in 30 years (doubt that, but would that be cool), but offcourse you want one now. :p

Lol first people just watching their Phone instead of traffic with pokemon go, next will be people on the streets with VR glasses on? :p

Thanks for the info.
