After what felt like an eternity of doing research, waiting for parts, and tightening what felt like a million screws it is finally done. My first true gaming PC setup is now up and running.

While it doesn't look all that pretty and isn't covered in fancy rgb, it has been very functional which is exactly what I wanted for my first build.

These are the parts that went into it in case you were wondering, along with some peripherals I already owned listed on there:

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9bhRM8

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS IX FORMULA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 PRO 2TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card
Case: be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 (Black/Orange) ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit

Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse Wired Laser Mouse
Mouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse
Headphones: Sennheiser G4ME ONE Black Headset

Desk is an Arozzi gaming desk and the chair is a DXRacer Classic Series I got during the valentines sale.

Yes that is my bed on the right. My room is the size of a walk in closet :(

And in case you were wondering why the wires are a mess, the cabes I had to work with were really awkward in length. Some were way too short, others were too long and none were just right. I might get some custom cables at some point in the future, so if anyone can tell me whether those are worth it or not I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Well after reading through my crap I bet you're wondering where the celebratory gibs are. After all thats what you're REALLY here for right? Well here they are! http://www.sgtools.info/giveaways/2bc8382e-fd6d-11e6-96a2-fa163ee2f826

Just some bundled indiegala games with basic sgtools rules. Don't expect anything phenomenal, I did just drop about $4.5k into this setup

Nice setup, well done!

I like the idea of two mice, but in my case it's one for everything, and one silent, to be used when all the clicks get annoying! 8)

Is there any "gaming" mouse with silent click though ?

If i had money to spend on a 2nd mouse, i would personally go with a wireless, like the G900.

Oh I don't know, I'm not that good at games requiring a "gaming" mouse, so I never needed one! 8)

My good mouse is a Logitech M560 and the silent a Speedlink calado which I bought because I didn't like Logitech's offerings in the silent mice category.

Holy crap! That SSD cost more than my entire build. Unfortunately I can't even afford $250 for a new video card so something like this is only in my imaginary wishbook. Maybe if I win the lottery one day...

Great build man. Why not getting an NVMe SSD tho ? Are you waiting for an Optane SSD maybe ?

Plannin to get one in the near future. The good ones are just so dang expensive that I'm waiting till a tech sale for something like that.

Fair enough. At the moment the sweet spot is 960 Evo 500gb, you could use that for your OS/apps and your 850 pro for everything else.

Btw it's confirmed, 7700k still right on the top for gaming despite all the Ryzen's hype. :)

My laptop was on the verge of death and I couldn't afford to wait for it with college classes starting soon and mine all being online. I actually ordered all the parts a month b4 I finally finished the dang thing, so it took more time than I anticipated which makes me glad I did start it early.
