Well, time will tell, but I think it was a quite reasonable purchase? ~300€ for 500GB + Dying Light and The Witcher 3 ^^

So it's time for some celebration, right guys? :D
15 carts (two 2x), level 3+ on everything, 100% bundled stuff (sorry, I'm now way too broke for some nice and shiny unbundled games ;-;), no SGT and maybe no blacklist drama? pretty please ;_;

If you'd like to recommend me some currently available titles (exclusives and also games, that a potato laptop really can't to handle), then I'm all ears! :) I'll be definitely getting Bloodborne btw. :p

Oh, and I still love my PS3, but progress had to be made. :p

Do you own any kind of gaming console?

View Results
Yup, love it/them even more than my PC!
Yes and I treat it/them on an equal ground as my PC
Yes, but I prefer PC
Nope, but maybe someday?
NEVER!

Congrats Zoey on getting a console. Hope you can have fun with it. I'm mostly in the PC field because it's almost impossible to get a console in my country (and having PC parts right now is almost impossible too). If you have a crappy laptop and still want to do some PC gaming you can test indie games. There are great ones that doesn't require a lot of power to run. Have you tested Dungelot: Shattered Lands? I recommend it to you.

I would not call it really crappy (it handled Shadow of Mordor pretty well considering it's age for example) but I'm way too afraid of pushing it too much.
I have not heard about Dungelot, but it looks absolutely adorable; wishlisted it. :)

I recommend Bloodborne, oh and bloodBorne, and BloodBorne of course.

That's why I want a PS4. That and for NIER, FF15, Persona 5 and KH3.

AKA games not coming out any time soon. :/ lol.

Haven't played the first Nier, but I might buy it before Automata comes out. It looks so good!

NIER is amazing. Amazing soundtrack, amazing story, and great characters.

There's only one small issue...

The gameplay. lol. It's not good. It's not the worst gameplay out there, but it's definitely not really fun.

Really? Well, Platinum is making Automata, so I don't think that there is any reason to be concerned.

I'm not much of a console guy myself (anymore - I gave them away), but big congrats on yours! I suppose you can never have too many gaming options. :)

Buying a PS4 is uncharted for some who have never owned a console.

I would never drop that kind of cash to play a few exclusive games it just not worth it that money could be spent on a lot more games for the pc.If i may add if you have to wonder if you made a good purchase and if you should be happy i am inclined to think you are seconding guessing it there for was an impulse buy and those usually do not turn out well in the future but great for short term happiness.

Also you to broke for non bundle game cause you bought PS4,this is why one does not simply buy a console without going broke,on the other hand you go broke buying a pc but soon can afford lots of games due to cheaper prices.

Either way enjoy you bought it now and it is yours like it or not, well you could sell it and just buy lots of pc games, have fun playing :)

To be perfectly honest, I just didn't have an idea for a title, so I stole Trevor's. :p
In all honesty, I have to say that I am really satisfied with it and I have strong reasons to believe that this satisfaction will only grow as I acquire more games.

Games are games i just like the PC because over all the cost for me is lower and if something breaks i can replace/fix it,while with the console it not so easy to swap out a drive or CPU.

I am sure you will enjoy the games and still enjoy the pc :)

I really like my PS4, especially now that my PC got kinda left behind. Still enjoying my PS3 and Vita also. PC is great but the console exclusive stuff is often more enjoyable.

You didn´t wait for PS4 NEO?

  1. I won't have the time to play big games when NEO comes out (exams...)
  2. I don't really support the business practice of keeping a console generation alive for barely 3 years, so I decided to leave the new version alone.
  3. There's almost no chance for NEO exclusives and I couldn't care less for VR.

Congrats, you're a peasant now. You slow down the progress of gaming by supporting weaker links of evolution, you're the reason we can't have good things.

Jokes aside, there are certain exclusive games I'm dying to play. Try Persona and Bloodborne first, make sure to get FF15 when it releases.

I've already got Bloodborne. It's better than I expected, considering how much of a casul I am. I just need to finally learn how to time my parries right. x_x
Definitely will be getting Persona. :D

The Last of Us Remastered and Uncharted Quadrology might alone justify the purchase. And later you will be happier and happier with releases of Tekken 7, Final Fantasy XV, Star Ocean 5, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Yakuza 5, The Last Guardian and so on... SONY makes a very shitty console with even shittier system inside yet they are really good at keeping a good line-up of polished exclusives.

The Last Guardian is without any doubt the title I'm most hyped about. It looks absolutely stunning. Also looking quite forward to Horizon.
Never actually had the pleasure with Yakuza, but it does look rather entertaining.

I've never had any issue with my PlayStations, but I did not own either of the first two. My PS4's Blu Ray drive kicked the bucket... but that was after my son ran by it and knocked it to the ground quite forcefully... but replacement was pretty easy too since there was no soldering required like I needed to do when I had to replace the drive in my XBone (that one just died).

Any way, what do you mean by a shitty system inside? I get that the overall specs are low-end compared to many PCs, but you are not going to slap in much higher performing chips at this time without greatly increasing airflow. That would likely require a much larger console. Personally, I've never had any OS issues, or hardware issues (that were not caused by my little man). I don't really see a shitty system. The interface is easy to use and the game appearance quality is great even using processors that are dwarfed by what we have in our PCs.

Understand, I am not trying to be snooty or disrespectful... I'm just looking for your honest thoughts on the matter.

The games you got with it are excellent ones so you are off to a great start. One underrated exclusive that I recommend is Until Dawn. Sure it plays an awful lot like a movie... but that is what they were going for... replicating the experience of a movie, only you are part of it. There were parts that scared the bejesus out of me more than any flick ever did... had to turn on the lights on in the room kind of spooks.

Ah yes, I've heard many great things about it. I used to be a huge slasher fan and even though I don't watch these movies much nowadays, I still really enjoy their climate, so I'm pretty sure that I'm going to like Until Dawn. :D

I still have a PS2. Haven't even turned it on in about 6 years.

Honestly, I can't imagine why I would spend $350 on a PS4 when I could spend $350 on a bunch of Steam games. Or spend $350 on a really nice GPU to play the games I already have. More power to you, though, if that's what floats your boat.

I built a PC and then got a GPU. Turns the 140€ GPU beats a PS4 in performance while being... well, 140€

if you payed less than 140 €/$ and don't have a PC then yes. If not then that's your decision anyways and I couldn't care less.
