Arise and Golf Club Nostalgia are in my wishlist, but this bundle is so not worth it, they're like 97c at Indiegala.

Catastrophic bundle imho. That there isn't a single wishlisted game, can happen. But there isn't even a single game that wasn't already bundled. Just embarrassingly low quality all around.

Barter links have been included with bundle threads for years and this is no different. Okay, slightly different because Barter eventually removed trading functionality, but for years it was a trading site and posting the Barter bundle links has never been considered a problem.

As I said in my comment below, if that issue is fixed I'm sure that the users currently creating the bundle threads wouldn't mind to include a link to Lestrades along with ITAD and Barter, it's just a question of asking them.

Lilly will no longer help with bundle threads if Lestrades links are included by OP because of disputes between Lestrades and barter.vg

Edit: Also she doesn't want people knowing about that. She deleted the SG comments about it and I didn't screenshot the long conversation we had in Steam chat about it. I truly appreciate how much she helps with bundle threads and region lock information and the master thread, but she pulled me into that drama I wanted nothing to do with and made me choose a side. And because nobody else knows region lock stuff like she does, I felt like I didn't really have a choice but to side with Lilly and barter.vg

Fair enough, I guess. I would love to see things worked out between them but I don't really see how at this point. I respect and appreciate Lilly a lot and I don't have one single bad thing to say about her, that's really all I can tell from this unfortunate situation 😕

I'm not sure I'm the best person to comment on this, but:

  1. Throwing in the link without any context isn't useful at all
  2. If the link requires registration to view the content, I'd say it's borderline against site rules
  3. The best approach would be to politely ask the people making bundle threads to include a link to the bundle page on Lestrades if and only if the page is publicly available. They're already linking ITAD and Barter ("View this bundle on: ITAD - Barter.vg") so I don't think it would be a problem to add Lestrades there, as it does offer useful information (grey market prices, for example) and it offers traders an alternative now that Barter discontinued that feature. Even Barter is kind enough to link Lestrades on every game page ("Lestrades Profile instant game matching") even if that link is also blocked due to heavy load, so...

If you log in (via Steam) you will also register (create an account), so it's basically the same.

There's a rule about not linking sites that require the user to do tasks, I think it's mainly for giveaways but I guess it's also applicable to a site where the content is expected to be public, that's why I used the word "borderline". You don't need to log in or register on Barter (or ITAD) to view its contents.

And how does that rule apply to this? Many posts offer information that requires users to create an account for a site to receive free games; why don't those apply to the rule? Why aren't they against the rule?

Dude, are you trying to explain to me how Lestrades works? You must be kidding.

Login on Lestrades is the same as registering, only "more convenient". Lestrades will pull your info from Steam and create a full account for you, with all your information. I don't know if that has changed but the only way to delete an existing account was to ask Nao to manually do it.

Tegarding links, usually you can see the contents WITHOUT being forced to regist... Sorry, "log in" to the site. If you don't see the difference, or you can't understand what's wrong here that's your problem.

Now it seems I have something against Lestrades, which would be really ironic...

Just my two cents as someone who hasn't heard of Lestrades until now, I also think it's the same.

If I have to make an account for a site (which is collecting my information to make a profile), it's registering an account. Logging in with Steam is in the same vein as Google/Apple/Facebook login. An account still needs to be created but uses a connected one to log in after creation. We could use ITAD as an example of using Steam login but it's not required to view the content like Lestrades. It's just not the same to them because they've already made an account unlike unregistered visitors.

We're just against having to create an account only to see the contents of a link. It feels like those news sites that require a subscription if you just wanted to read a random article you came across. If account deletion requires jumping through a hoop, I'm even less inclined to create one.
