The second (prequel) has a better story structure and more dialogue, also in a sense it is a better thriller, but the game mechanics are subpar as it uses typical HOG logic with item placement (like one of the main character's personal possessions is hidden behind a random puzzle-locked wall segment in a random mansion because… reasons). Still an excellent, excellent game.

have you try this one?... http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Big%20Fish%20Games , i have little secret about this, actualy bigfish only available on england store and usa i guess and only some title, last january 2016 i make complaint to bigfish, why i cant bought on steam store and not available on my country?... please put mystery case file to steam, and other HOG title, you know because i from indonesia ^^... and... boom... they email me and give me code to bought 1 game any title what i want from bigfish store yippiii ^^... i choose Phantasmat Behind The Mask Collector Edition, and after that many bigfish HOG game come to steam... cant wait to bought when summer sale....

Steam only has one of the Dark Parable games, The Little Mermaid and the Purple Tide. http://store.steampowered.com/app/453390/ but the entire series is fantastic. You can pick up the other ones at bigfishgames if you're interested, or I think they're available as an ios app and an android app. The whole series revolves around solving fairy-tale mysteries, and my favorite is probably the Last Cinderella.

Hi, i've given away a few HOGs in the past and it got me thinking: "Why don't i try one of these games?", but i have zero experience with this type of game. It would be really nice if you could recommend me some HOGs that are good or interesting and beginner friendly.
